While you may save some money with a pre-owned midget you might find that the problems will outweigh the savings.
Financing is so affordable right now that I would be tempted to go for a new one. Even a lease return might be a better deal than used when you consider the maintenance issues.
I mean, do you know where this midgets been...what its been used for...whose been riding it?
