Time to check on Jeff again. I walk downstairs and find him sitting on the bed I provided. "You didn't eat your supper Jeff."
"Fuck you."
"Come now Jeff, is that any way to treat your host? I expected more from you. I brought you some bagels and juice for breakfast, I guess I'll just swap these." I take dinner away and replace it with the breakfast I brought down. "I have some errands to run but I'll be back later."
As I walk out Jeff starts in with: "Ben, let me out of here, come on man, I can get you anything you want, more money, a place on the next season, anything, please."
I ignore his pleas and as I turn to close the cellar door I see him sitting morosely on the bed staring at the meal I've left for him on the electric chair. I don't care if he eats or not, it's not like he'll need the sustenance much longer. In the meantime, I have one last visit to make before I can focus on finishing my quest for vengeance. Before I leave I double check the lock on the cellar door.
Nancy was the shows on site doctor. Yes, there was a doctor there and no she didn't do anything to help any of us. Ok, it's true she helped Amy recover long enough to experience an awful death but beyond that she did nothing to help. In my estimation she violated the oath she took to become a doctor by standing by while we were one by one killed off for the purposes of entertainment and so today she dies.
I find her at home working at her computer. I quietly let myself in the back door and sneak up behind her. I've again soaked a rag in chloroform and as I reach to place it over her nose and mouth she hears me and begins to turn. She sees me just before passing out in her chair. I'm not terribly excited about the next task but I think it will help things if her death looks like a suicide so I drag her body out to the garage. I throw a rope up over one of the rafters and secure it to the workbench then I pull her over and place the noose around her neck. She comes to as I begin to pull the rope up and her eyes glare at me. She doesn't have the breath to scream and before I have to watch her die I tie the rope again making sure she can't touch anything with her feet, and walk back into the house.
I sit down at her computer and open a new Word document and write:
To whom it may concern,
I've tried living with the sins I've committed and can no longer sustain the will to continue this life. I stood by and watched as several innocent people died, there were several times when I could have helped but I let them die every time. I can't go on any longer.
Nancy
That done, I walk back into the garage and snap a Polaroid of Nancy's now lifeless body. I carefully place a stool on its side near her feet as though she'd climbed up on it and then kicked it from beneath herself.
I drive back to the cabin lost in my thoughts, thoughts of Gina, the friends I lost, and what I'll do when I'm done with this business. As I pull into the driveway I turn my thoughts to Jeff. No more obstacles, just him, me, and time. I walk into the house and as I walk past the cellar door I notice that the door looks bent. I throw back the lock and open the door. Jeff lunges up from the stairs and hits me with a leg from the bed frame. I see Jeff trying to run through a fog of red as the blood pours down my face and I tell him to stop. He continues to run so I shoot him in the other leg and watch as he hits the ground in a puff of dirt. I walk over to him and kick him in the ribs.
"Jeff, if you can't behave I'm afraid things will be worse for you than they already are. Look at this." I throw the picture of Nancy on the ground in front of his face and as quickly as he turns to see it he turns away again. "Now, you'll return to the cellar under your own power. If you can't walk then you'd better crawl because if I have to carry you I can't guarantee that I'll be gentle. Go."
He tries to stand but with the gunshot wounds in both legs is unable to support his own weight and so he begins to drag himself back to the house. "Ben, please don't do this, please. What are you going to do? You can't get away with this you know. How can you do this? How..."
I couldn't listen to any more. I took out the rag I'd used on Nancy and put Jeff out too. I carry him down the stairs and drop him at the foot of the stairs. It takes me a few minutes to dismantle the rest of the bed frame so I can remove it but leaving the mattress on the floor I do just that. I consider taking the chair out of the room, I don't want a repeat of what just happened but seeing that his breakfast is still sitting on the seat I decide to leave it in place. Jeff is totally freaked out by it and if he can't even eat from a plate that was touching the chair I don't think I have to worry about him trying to take something from it to use as a weapon. Besides, it's not like Jeff is all that mobile now. Inspecting the door as I walk out I see that it's still intact and solid as ever so I lock the door and lay on the couch for a nap. I'll have to mind Jeff when I get up but I've had a full morning and I think some rest is warranted.

Wouldn't they find traces of chloroform on the doctor when performing her autopsy? Just a loose end to think about for your copy. Otherwise, niiiiiiiice.

Yeah, doctors that don't help people deserve to die horrible deaths like that.
Also, I think it would be funny if, after Ben brought Jeff back to the cellar, he sat him in the electric chair so Jeff freaks out when he comes to. Psychological fear is fun. :)

I have read your last two posts and loved them. I know it's a bad way to start, with the so-far-last chapters. I am new and I saw that it was like 40 chapters so I decided to check it out, your good so I am going to spend my time reading them all BE HAPPY!!!
