I think Hardee's should rethink their marketing scheme. I'm not sure if any of you have seen or heard the new ad campaign, but it goes something like this:
Some random guy is talking about his son. He gets all sentimental (well, as sentimental as the "tough guy" in a commercial can get) remembering the kid's first words. He gets through "Mommy" and "No!", then the third word turns out to be "McDonald's". Next, just to show how badass he is, he talks about how he won't eat there, but "Mommy" will. The voice over guy comes on to end it and says something like, "McDonald's is great...when you're two."
They have a TV one with some pregnant lady eating the burger while this other lady's kid runs around the doctor's office giving everyone a headache. I was hoping it was for birth control when I saw it the first time, but it turns out no one cares about people who can't control their first little hellion bastard having a second one. At least when there's 2 of them they keep each other occupied. Plus, with two of them around they have a better chance of offing themselves in some creative and Darwin Award winning fashion. I know my step-brother and I came damn close a few times.
Anyway, on my way home from work today the radio version came on. I had already decided on Wendy's, because I can get all the major food groups (beef, bacon, cheese and french fries) for $1.98 plus tax, and it's on the way. The commercial, however, changed my mind. It just didn't change it in the manner they had intended. Instead of driving over to Hardee's to eat a manly pound and a half of beef, I got all nostalgic about being a little kid and had to stop at McDonald's for some chicken nuggets. Besides, McDonald's fries beat the shit out of Hardee's or Wendy's any day.
Now I just can't decide what's more pressing: Hardee's need for a new, more effective campaign, Wendy's need to sue the shit out of Hardee's for taking away their two dollars, or me getting some therapy. In defense of my manhood, Hardee's is 10 minutes out of the way and traffic was a bitch this evening.
The ad campaign is right though. McDonald's is not made for adult human consumption, maybe not even any kind of human consumption. Kids are stupid.

It's true. And those commercials are LIES, DAMNED LIES. I heard one about how McDonald's has these loud toys in their kid meals to go to loud kids and we ALL know how annoying screaming brats are when all you want to do is relax and eat your grease in peace and quiet in the only thirty minutes a freakin day you get to NOT be surrounded by morons, so I go to Hardees instead and what do mine eyes behold but CHILDREN. Loud, screaming, running, ketchup-stained children EVERYWHERE.

I forgot that Maddox is the first and only person to ever make fun of kids.
...a quick excercis in "compare and contrast" between this post and Maddox:
Similarities:
- The theme of "Kids are stupid" is a part of some Maddox pages.
- There's a picture.
- It's on the internet.
- I have nearly flawless spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Differences:
- Maddox is funny. I'm not.
- Everything else.

+2 for that

No they don't, dipshit.
Read today's USA Today- there's a story about how Hardee's sales and revenue are going up while the other so-called "fast food" players are trending flat to down.
ALL because Hardees doesn't give a shit about calorie count and PC-ness.
The commercials- in conjunction with some big fat fuckin' burgers, are spearheading the charge.

Hardee's is the east coast version of Carl's Jr., right?
If so, I agree. The commercials for Carls. Jr usually blow.

Oh, I think you mistyped "for being a brillian fucking wit". And you left out "brilliant" altogether, now that I think about it.

Yeah, it was actually the fat kid that cracked me up. Otherwise, it would still have made me giggle. But not as much.

Never heard that one, but I did see a TV one where these guys are in a hotel and being little kids, then the Hardee's comes and they all shut up and eat. I wonder if it really works?

Hahaha. That's a great picture.

Google image search rules. The funny thing is that I didn't even notice the contrast between the skinny little kids and the big fat guy behind them until after I'd added the caption and posted it.
