Well, I would have liked to develop this one more, and make it longer... But oh well, I have been incredibly busy lately.

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" "God damned alarm, who turned that fucking thing on?" I said in the first few minutes of my waking.
"I thought it would be best for us to wake up early and get a head start on the day." My wife responded in that cute voice she used when trying to butter me up.
"Well, I guess you're right, those aliens won't kill themselves. HEY DEREK, WAKE UP! WE GOT A LOT TO DO!" I yelled through the walls hoping he would hear me. I ran down the stairs to get my morning coffee, smelling the freshly brewed java.
I was overjoyed at the sight of liquid energy; I quickly gulped down a cup trying to hold back the screams from the burns I was getting. I sat down in my chair, kicked back and started reading my morning paper.
Then all of a sudden I heard my wife holler from upstairs "HONEY? HAVE YOU SEEN DEREK? HE'S NOT IN HIS ROOM"
"Shit, this cant be happening", I thought to myself as I ran up the stairs.
"No, he's not downstairs, he isn't up there?"
"I'm afraid not dear." She responded meekly.
To which I responded "Well, now it's a waiting game."
A split second after I said that a sharp piercing sound just as I heard over a week ago, then blackness, I saw nothing, I heard nothing, and I felt nothing, the only thing that was present were my thoughts and nothing else. Then I felt an overflow of emotions almost as I did when Derek showed up, I felt good and I knew that everything would be all right and that nothing would harm us any longer.
Then one thought ran through my head, I knew this wasn't my thought but Derek's, "Don't worry any longer, nothing will hurt you, I have made sure of it, and I thank you for all that you have taught me."
As soon as that thought finished processing I was standing right where I was and I looked at my wife and she said "What happened, your face went blank, it seemed as if there an empty shell" I couldn't explain what had happened, but all I could say was that everything would be fine and that we would never see Derek again.
