(This is the final installment in a three part series. The first two are here: http://www.ubersite.com/m/54057

He sat on the couch, looking at the two young women across from him.

In the rightful order of things, he raged inwardly, these two would be on their knees, begging him for mercy. They'd be cut and bleeding and terrified. They'd be promising to perform any depraved sinful act he could imagine for the chance to live another day. They wouldn't be giggling, they wouldn't be cheerful, and they certainly wouldn't be -

"More wine, Reggie?"

- offering him wine.

He could pinpoint, with painful clarity, the moment it had all gone wrong.

"I have an idea! We'll watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre!"

He had watched in disbelief. The hack and slash, the death and torture, the brutality, the open blatant sexuality - these things had been his private darkness, his secret glorious indulgence. And here they were, on this screen, for anybody to see.

His thoughts returned to the present. They were watching him as though he were an animal in a Zoo.

He cleared his throat. "So, these movies. Are there many of them around?"

Meredith laughed. "Where are you from? A cave on Mars? There are thousands of horror movies."

He felt a little relief steal into his cold, killer's heart. "But these movies are not real, are they?"

"Well, no. Not real. If you want real, you go on the internet. There's shit on there you wouldn't dare put in a movie. It'd never make it past the censors."

The next three hours were the most amazing experience of his life. All of it was right here, at his fingertips. The depth of human cruelty, the heights of agony, the fascinating rictus that stretches the faces of the violently dead; right here for him to see and revel in.

And these girls; what of them? They looked at these images of torment with the same fascination he did. They willingly looked at things that had made his victims cringe and scream in horror when they'd been forced to look at them.

"Everyone knows these pictures exist?"

"Well, yeah."

"And... nobody tries to put a stop to it?"

Meredith shrugged. "Freedom of speech, baby. Say what you like, show what you like; who's gonna stop you?"

Whyle gave her his most charming smile. He'd just realised what had happened. It was blindingly obvious.

Somehow, over the last however many years, all of humanity had accepted that his way as the right way. Everybody here was like him. He could kill with impunity, for it was the way of the world now.

He would begin right away.

But first -

"Can I trouble you for another glass of wine?"

Circe, I want to hold you and murmur the vilest, most depraved things imaginable into your ear while I run my hands up and down your body, until you can't stand it anymore, and then finally... finally...

You write something else that is as kickass as this is.

awesome, as expected. i think (hope) you may have started a new trend here. a short two or three parter to indulge the limited attention span while piquing interest without going too long. although there are some great series' out there, a nice three parter can be enjoyed over the course of a couple sittings without becoming all consuming. great job. A+++

This was good...strange...

A time-traveling genius/psycho is teleported through time to present day with a bit of jet-lag in a dumpster, and experiences culture-shock when he discovers horror films?

Got it.

You need to continue this...

this man is a star.

i just read this bit, then read the previous two

my initial drugged reaction is that this is more interesting just by itself.

the first two bits set the scene and all, but make it a bit too transparent and predictable for my taste.

but this, just by itself, is very thought provoking.

i think i jowuld prefer the main character to be just a person from our time, a very sheltered person who actually thought he was special to have such gruesome fantasies and urges, but discovers he's just average.

though of course, actualy carying out (rather than merely fantassing about) even your standard sicko serial killing WILL make you a celebrity and a special person.

Creepy, and fun!

I can now fully understand the meaning of this:
what the hell man if they are comin at you , means they want somthin ,more better you look after them and care for them ,than they get on the street uh?

That Wazza dude was really talking about homocidal maniacs, wasn't he?
