As of late, I've found myself worrying about a lot of different things.

For instance, my family has a huge trip to Florida planned in January, and I've been worrying about having enough money, or making sure the flights, hotels, car rental, and tickets to Disney World are all set. I've worried about losing luggage, missing flights, and loosing my wallet.

I've also been worried about school. Trying to work 40 hours a week and take 5 classes a week has been hell on my nervous system. Studying got pushed to the back burner, and now I'm worried about failing a class or two due to one or two bad tests. I've done well in all the others, but my need to succeed in everything I put effort into still has me worried.

My car has a shimmy. Today I took it into the shop to get two new tires thrown on the front end due to a bad alignment. Come to find out, it's not only a bad alignment, it's also bad ball joints. So my 50 dollar alignment and my 2 50 dollar tires have turned into over 400 dollars of necessary maintenance. Luckily, my mechanic is honest and didn't just put the tires on so I could fuck those ones up too.

Christmas is a worrisome time for many people, but for me it's especially nerve-racking. With 2 sisters, 2 brother-in-laws, my parents, my fiancé, my son, 7 nieces, and finally a nephew all in my immediate family, trying to buy presents is a nightmare. Never mind my aunts and uncles and there kids, and the people I grew up with. And then there are my friends whom I always buy a little something for even if it is just a pack of smokes or what not.

Today while talking to my mechanic about my car, I got a call on my cell phone. The mother of my child, the love of my life, the woman whom I would die to protect, the woman who I can't imagine living the rest of my life with, called me.

She called to tell me that two weeks ago she had a pap smear that came back abnormal that she didn't tell me about because she knew I had a lot on my mind.

She went in for a follow up appointment today, and they found two...things inside her. I don't know what to call them. Neither does she.

She gets the biopsy results back a week from today.

Suddenly, everything else just doesn't worry me anymore. Funny how that is.

after reading the first line, i wanted to review: "may i have the serenity to accept the thing i cannot change, the courage to change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

but after reading the last line, it didn't seem right.

hope everything works out for the best.

Love from across the pond. Wish your lady the best.

Marge: Homer, you're his father. You've got to reason with him.

Homer: Oh, that never works. He's a goner!
