My father was a sad man he would come home from a hard day @ work to have a few beers.
Well after about 20 to 30 beers later he would take out to the tool shed & get 9 or 10 tools for us to pick from, He would yell at mom & say "your a no good cunt" & "I should have killed you when I found you with my brother last year you slut" then dad would beat mom bloody....
Next he would come to me (though I ran to hide the moment he slapped mom for the first time)"Boy!"
The old man would say "boy!" "you bring your ass out here & be a man!" so I would do as I was told & he would lay in to me with the tool of my own choice for about 2 or 3 hours. I always woke up in my mothers arms with her crying praying I was alive still so she could go get her fix!
This went on for about 4 or five years until one day when I was 12 daddy tried to hit mom in front of me (we had a fight 2 nights before at the time dad went in to his room got a gun & pulled the trigger at me all 6 times but the gun was not loaded) I went right to where he hid his 357 & popped his ass 3 times in the legs, chest & arm.....
My father died just 2 years after that.
I WILL NEVER HIT MY KIDS.
He died before my daughter was born.
He never saw me become a father I wish he could of seen me then I wish he could have always been the dad I knew when I was a little boy, The father that never hit anyone, The father that would read me books & teach me stuff.
I know now that my father was consumed by daemons of his own making.
I vow never to let those daemons get to me or my son.
