Ok just curious if anyone here knows which ones are the best. I was thinking of getting a kodak, but then my friend said they suck. I know HP is the worst. so which ones are good?

I recommend the Olympus C760 Ultra Zoom if you're looking for something for a good price with good features. 3.2 megapixel, 10x optical zoom, 3x digital, very light, and only about 500 bucks. The C765 Ultrazoom has 4x digital zoom and 4 megapixels, but costs about 50-100 bucks more.
And if you're looking for power and a staggering price, just look at the high end of Konica Minolta's Dimage line.

I had a Minolta Image, very good. Now I have a Nikon Coolpix. Excellent. Both are affordable and easy to use.
