1. Security guards are dipshits, they do not know as much law as cops, and they usually consist of the losers who got picked on in highschool and think this is how they can get their revenge.
2. You get laughed at, ALOT.........by 15 year olds.
3. Kill yourself, your life is pointless and so is your job.
4. Eat a dick before performing step 3
A few tips to people who get stopped by the police :
1. Shut the fuck up: Most of the time cops can't do shit unless you say something stupid which can be construed as a confession, then they arrest you.
2. Do not consent to ANYTHING:
If they ask to search your car? NO
If they ask to search your person? NO
If they ask to come in your house? NO
Cops can only search without your consent when you have been arrested. Dont you watch COPS? most of the people who get busted are the ones stupid enough to consent to a search when carrying 3 lbs of coke on them.
Cops can only come in your house if a) they believe someone inside is about to be killed or seriously hurt b) if they are chasing a criminal and he runs into your house or c) if they have a warrant. Other than that you can tell them to fuck off.
I hope they are helpful to you. I'm not telling you to commit crimes, just if you do, don't be an idiot. The dumbest criminals are the ones who got caught. Thank you.

"For example, if the warrant was for drug search, and only a gun was found, I don't believe this is prosecutable."
Yes it is.
Just like if they are looking for something else and find kiddie porn.
If the gun (or whatever else they find) is illegal, then can arrest for it. It's still illegal.

Another +0.
Probable cause has a very wide interpretation. A POLICE officer can see he smelled marijuana and call probable cause to search a vehicle or a home. Also, if an officer enters the home without a search warrant but at the owner's request, he cannot go looking in everything, even if there is probable cause. He can only act on what is in 'plain view'. If he suspected something, he would have to go up the chain of command to have a detective obtain a search warrant for SPECIFIC things. For example, if the warrant was for drug search, and only a gun was found, I don't believe this is prosecutable.

Another thing thats wrong about this is that any cop can search you at anytime, should he feel that you have a weapon on you. I work as a security guard, and I search every dipshit that enters my office, and Im well with in my rights to do so if I feel they could have a weapon or means of escape on them.
-----------------------------
Not so my friend.
A police officer has to have probable cause to search you, or they can perform (as someone pointed out) a Terry Search...which is a search for weapons, argument being for the officer's own safety. If they are summoned to your house, because they have probable cause because of the complaint. If an officer randomly knocks on your door, and you open it, then you have just invited him in, and he can then do what he needs to do. If you step outside your door, and close it behind you, thats a different story. As far as cars...thats an interesting thing. In some states, an officer can search your car just because he pulled you over, in some, they have to have probable cause or reasonable suspicion. If challenged in civil court, most of the stuff that officers due wouldn't hold up.
Now, a police officer performs a terry search, finds drugs or something, then you get arrested. If a security officer searches you for weapons, and finds drugs, they can turn it over to a police officer, and he can arrest you, but it still would be a very hard court case to prove because of chain of evidence and blah blah blah. Its the whole thing where a security officer, doesn't have probable cause, whereas a police officer does. The only exception that I know of is Virginia where armed security has the same arrest and search powers as a police officer on the property they are protecting.
In Georgia, the only thing I can search for is weapons, and thats for my safety. I can't search your car, your house, or anything else you own. If these things have been searched by a security officer, and you were subsequently arrested, in a state other than Virginia, check with a lawyer because you may have a good basis for a lawsuit.
Fuck you...I know the law.

that's because it's not illegal to drink, so more people do it. then they're dumb enough to drive when they're wasted. that was a very bad comparison.
--------------------------------------------------
Actually, it's a very good comparison. During the 1920's, alcohol was illegalized and guess what happened..people start drinking more! The mob got in on it, and bootlegging alcohol provided a LOT of money for the gangsters. Prohibiting alcohol only made things worse, so guess what happened next..alcohol was re-legalized!
This is a great example to be used in the pro-pot cause.
Personally, I think bud should be legalized and the government should focus more on the "hard" drugs.

Are you serious? if you dont consent that can be probable cause? I thought americans were all about the rights of the individual, and "land of the free". Jesus christ, I pity you guys. The people are supposed to be the ones with the power.
And ashlee (or loren I cant remember) that came out wrong, when I said taking over peoples lives, I mean CHRONIC users, burnouts who just do nothing but smoke weed. I know that only about 1% of users actually become that.
I didnt smoke weed until I was 22, before that I thought like most people, "drugs are bad mmmkay" but weed is actually good. It doesn't hurt you anymore than alcohol, and if you use a vaporizer, the effects on your lungs is almost negligible.

I just get really pissed off when I hear comments like that. Comparing smoking weed to burglary is as ridiculous as comparing a kid stealing a pack of gum to a serial killer. And you know it.
Plus I just spent the last two hours in the tax collecter's office trying to get my tags renewed. And that was after the OTHER two hours I spent waiting to find out that the tax collecter's office doesn't take Visa. That's bound to make anyone a little touchy.

Now I'm 29. I still smoke pot almost daily, and WOW! I can not only maintain a well-paying job in an intelleigence-demanding position, but I can afford to pay my rent, car payment, insurance, fiancee's car payment, her insurance, our vacations, cat food, people food, cable, telephone, cellphone, AND weed bills.

Except that it's wrong. They ask to search your car and you say no? You sit there while they call in all kinds of bomb-sniffing and drug-sniffing dogs. Sure, they may not get to search yoru car, but you've been sitting by the side of the road for 2 hours.
Not giving consent to a search is, in most states, legal grounds to perfom what is called a Terry Stop, which can involve frisking you, calling in dogs, and questioning you: Name, address, where you're going, what you're doing. Not answering is suspicious and can be probable cause for a search.

Most people who have tried pot realize its not big deal. When it starts taking over some peoples lives, then it becomes a big deal, but most people just like to smoke from time to time. I enjoy doing it a little myself and i actually prefer it to getting drunk. It makes you happy so leave us alone.
Also, as long as there is a market for it people will find a way to get it to those people to make money. The black market exists because normally good, law abiding people want these bad things. Decriminilazing pot will stop these gang bangers and drug dealers because they wont have anything to make money off besides the hard shit.

The only difference is that burglaries directly harm someone else.
MrWillard looks for people smoking on their balcony patio.
Smoking pot is a victimless crime. Just because it hasn't been legalized yet does not mean it is a BAD thing.
That's all.
------------------
I do see what you mean, but you have to realize that victimless crimes are illegal for reasons. Like prostitution and legalized gambling, it attracts the wrong kinds of people to previously peaceful towns. Not all places want to end up like Vegas.

apples and oranges
smoking a bowl is basically a victimless crime (blah blah blah, people driving high, gateway drug, supporting terrorists, I'm not going to try and argue these points, because people can use it responsibly and it is still less deadly than alcohol) whereas burglaries are not.
Lets compare rape to larceny!

I got pulled over once, it was like 2:30 in the morning... I think the cop was just bored and decided it'd be fun to harrass a helpless teenage girl. He asked if he could search my car, I said what the fuck, I've got nothing to hide. Stupidly, I left my purse on the seat. So he calls for backup, searches the car, has the two other cops that came search my car, and finally (about an hour and a half later) tells me that they found trace amounts of marijuana in my purse. They tested it, only to find it was actually lose tobacco from the many packs of cigarettes that had been kept in the purse. Instead of just being civil and letting me go, he gives me a ticket for a busted tag light. I didn't even know I HAD tag lights until then... Fucking prick. And to top it all off, he never even told me why he pulled me over... I wonder if I should have sued.

The thing with cops is that they try to do anything in their power to get their suspects convicted (or at least put up for the night).
Nowadays cops (I know this for a fact in NYC) have quotas. Believe it or not, they have a set amount of people they have to pull over or arrest or whatever for a set amount of time. This, I feel, not only affects THEIR respect for the rights of suspects, but the whole damn American justice system.
I was caught for petty larceny ($63 worth of stuff) and on my court papers, they reported me taking $200 worth of stuff. What's worse was that my defense lawyer didn't give me a chance to say boo, but since I was being held, I had nearly no rights. The only thing I can do now is to simply shut the fuck up and make sure I'm never run in with the cops ever again.
I'm pretty sure that your rules aren't the only ways to avoid getting fucked over by the cops, but they'll at least raise some awareness...

"You do not have to give consent to a law enforcement officer to search your vehicle. While you do not have to consent, bear in mind that the expectation of privacy in a car is less than the expectation of privacy in your home. Based in part on the lessened expectation of privacy in a car, law enforcement officers are permitted to conduct a warrantless search of a car if the officer has probable cause."

Yea I just replied to tubby's post
About the consent thing
Some states have passed laws that work around the whole consent of search thing, bringing in probable cause and some other heavily worded bullshit. I know Maryland, for a fact, is one of these states.
I was pulled over for speeding, and asked to step out of the car because he belived I had been drinking, I was. He informed me that because I had been stopped he had the right to search my vehicle. He proceeded to do the search, found nothing, gave me breathlizer, and let me free.
Times are a changing, but I know Maryland is a real exception to the rule.
