i have a bit of an arguement here guys and I need your opinion
The Gimp in Pulp Fiction.
Is he
a) A willing participant?
or
b) A previously captured prisoner who is being trained and now enjoys the treatment?
or
c) A captor who actually wants to escape but is obedient waiting for the right time?
Butch: "Are you ok?"
Marellus Wallace (after being raped): "Naa man, .... I'm pretty fuckin far from ok"

I noticed that everyone presumes that The Gimp is a male. I've always thought otherwise, and that (A) is the answer. I suppose we perceive what we want to see. (One man looks at a glass and says it's half full, another man looks at it and says it's half empty. I would just look at both men and tell them to finish their drinks and stop bitching.)

It was always sort of B in my opinion. I think that he was a regular guy who was kidnapped, and after all of the mental and sexual abuse, he mentally broke down and fell into a sort of super-psychological sex rut. Perhaps drugs were implemented as well, and perhaps they planned on turning Marsellus and Butch into sex "gimps" as well.
The man who played as the Gimp was a screenwriter who's too embarrassed to discuss his role as the Gimp even to this day, or so I've heard.

I just noticed something ... everytime John Travolta goes to the toilet some fucked up shit happens - 3 times drug overdose, restaurant robbery and the shooting that leads to his eventual death

Look at the brains on Brad!

I didn't just watch it, but I've seen it so much that I can literally play the whole sequence back in my mind.
B is a very slight possibility. VERY slight. But guys like that don't "develop" a fetish by having something forced on them. This guy was at least a little bit into that hardcore stuff already.

Oh, and it's B.
When the gimp gets out of the box, he scurries over to Zed with such EXCITEMENT.

DEFINITELY A.
The guy's fetish is to be abused, kept in a box, etc.

I'm inclined to think A, the box seems just part of his bizarre gimp life, and it seems he genuinely doesn't want Butch to escape. Also Zed seems to trust him to guard Butch on his own, so he probably is willing.

It couldn't be C, because when they let him out of the box, his lustful eyes went straight to Butch.
He wanted that ass.

pen_name - but you think that perhaps his fetish extends to all aspects of his life, such as comfort and sleep ? There are some fucked up people in the world.

It's definately b. If he was willing from the beginning, they would have allowed him to sleep on a grass mat or something. The fact that he lives in a box proves that they had to "break" him.
