I was just recently fired from Barnes & Noble because I was not (like you said) a dipshit like everyone else that works there. You are absolutely right about horrible customer service, I cannot count the times I had gone into work and there would be only one cashier at the registers-no booksellers no managers-they were all on break.
There is one good thing about that though-Barnes&Noble does not and will not ever put up any kind security devices. Oh sure, they occassionally put a tag that will go off in the alarm in the really expensive art books, but for the most part, employees won't tag the books because they are so damn lazy. So steal away!
And Yes, the people who work there do think there is nothing other than Barnes & Hardly Noble. It is there life, They think they are at the top of the world. All because they read "culture" and "literature" type books. Who gives a damn? I certainly didn't. They are all pricks up there.
If you really want to screw Barnes & Noble over--the booksellers can't funtion without their "PDT's" its what they scan everything with. You can walk in anytime, and give them five minutes, and one will be laying around. At the store, they told me never to drop it because it was worth more than I was. Thanks alot.
True, they say they are several thousand dollars, but then why do managers leave them lying on the shelves when they go to lunch? If you want revenge, take one before you go. It screws them up, the managers get in trouble, and the store loses money. Although it shouldn't matter seeing as how a low traffic store like the one I worked at makes around 80-100,000 dollars a day.
Seriously though, you can take, destroy, or pretty much do whatever you want there because they want there customers not to feel they are in a pressured enviorment. The employees won't care-Barnes & Noble does have the worst customer service ever.

"But you can't steal the DVD's there. I need some inside info on how to do that. "
dunno about barnes and noble, but if u got a blockbuster around......the dvd rental cases are locked with a long yellow lock thing thang thingy. take something smal and with a point. pocket knives work best, i've also used keys, and find the small hole on the backside of the case, near the lower left corner, stick in, pry downward, and the lock should slide right out. open, remove disk, lock back up, and replace on shelf. or... a lor of their new releases that they have for sale do not get locked up, if u want those, they either use a thin black sticker, or thick white sticker with some bullshit made up barcode on it. once the sticker is peeled off, u can walk straight out with your new movie

Oh everything's cruel according to you. Keeping him chained us in the
backyard is cruel. Pulling his tail is cruel. Yelling in his ears is
cruel. Everything is cruel. So excuse me if I'm cruel.
