Okay, I have to go to class now, so I'll end this here and now. Bargled and I were just trying to get this post heated, so we said some stupid thing. I don't care if The Holocaust was the worst event or if the Great Purges were. All I know is that they were all horrible periods in human history, and they all instance the disgusting things in all humans. As far as I'm concerned, Stalin is just as guilty as Hitler for killing based on what someone was or what their belief was.

Degreeless, all of the things you mentioned are horrible, yes, but I don't think that's the point that trying to be made. The Holocaust is the foremost mass killing in history, thus when the words "genocide" or "atrocity" or such are spoken, it immediately comes to mind. The killing of 6 million people based solely on religion is horrible not only because of the sheer numbers, but because of the basis--a basis on which wars even today are waged. This was humorous, but far from funny. The picture itself communicates the humor, but the act which it depicts is nauseating.

Single worst artocity in recorded history? What, because of sheer numbers? Because that's the only thing keeping this in the lead. Let me give you a brief list on things the majority of the American republic don't know or care about.
Stalin's Great Purges. Oh don't mind this. Only about 1 million people killed in this "atrocity" alone.
Trail of Tears. Who cares about a menial number like ten thousand? Only a few hundred people actually died, anyway.
The American Industry in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Undisputably among the most disgusting things that took place. Ever hear of The Jungle? But the government wasn't behind it, so I guess everything's fine and dandy.
That's not even counting the massacres that occur daily in Africa, the ruthless killing by dictators like Pol Pot and Mao Zedong, and the inhuman things that happen on the streets everyday.
My point for all of this is, by saying The Holocaust is the worst thing that ever happened, you are actually offending many people. That is minimizing some of the worst things that happened in history, whether you realize it or not.

Are you retarded? Germany was in shambles, but Hitler brought it back to power. He virtually eliminated unemployment and raised the economy to the highest it was since before that time. Germany was a powerhouse by the 1930s. There were no problems to blame on jews except the fact that the greedy bastards evicted people from houses, robbed them blind, and did jack shit to help the country out. Hitler tried to stop the corrupt people, which happened to be mostly jews, but failed when he tried it peacefully. So he had to force the jews to stop their cut-throat tactics.
