before I start I'm talking about decent music. I know Eric Clapton, john Mayer, and probably a few other artists that can't sing for shit. but I'm talking about koRn, nirvana, ect.and other band's that just plan suck like metallica (new stuff), linkin park (always sucked), if anyone can point out a GOOD band I would be more then willing to withdraw my comment, but until such dooms day. LIVE WITH IT.

Try VAST. Jon Crosby was featured at 13 years old in Guitar Player Magazine as a promising guitarist. He's just realeased his 3rd album "Nude".
Try Dire Straits. Mark Knopfler is arguably one of the finest guitarists of all time, although as you put it, he "can't sing for shit".
Try Tool. The music as a whole is fantastic. Ignore the pseudo-music officionados on Uber who say Tool is for goths and poet writers... I'm neither, and I think they're great.
Now learn to write English.

Hey asshole, I can play the guitar, and I'm quite good at it. Sure, a lot of New Metal sucks, but a lot of it is pretty creative. MTV has done everything in its power to ruin music as we know it, so turn it off. Try looking at bands that aren't in the mainstream if you find their creativity lacking.

I play guitar too. And I'm pretty damn good... you may find if you go to venues that there are bands out there, like mine, who enjoy just playing London venues. I have absolutly NO desire to be famous. I'd hate it.
Or learn to play yourself instead of complaining maybe?

Lechuga makes a good point. Look WAY in the underground and it's teeming with incredibly talented musicians (just none of them get / want airplay).

If you've got a problem with the music that's being made today, quit complaining and start a band. That's what I did...
The comment about turning off MTV for a while is dead on. However, it depends on what you think is GOOD playing. Personally, I think soloing is just a lot of showing off. I've never seen a use for huge, three minutes solos; although I do have respect for the people playing them. Its all a matter of taste...
