That's what you get for speeding.
For the Rest of the World reading this:
It rarely rains here in Southern California - prior to this rainy December/January, it had not rained one day in 6 1/2 months.
People down here drive FAST, and when it rains, do they slow down?
NO! They drive exactly the same speed as always.
We have MANY more accidents and fatalities due to dumbasses who think they can go 95 mph in a downpour and have nothing go wrong.

If I wasn't so canadianly poor, I'd buy exactly that car. Not cherry red though. Just plain black.

shit, dude...glad you're ok! That's some scary stuff.
yeah - there's not much you can do about hydroplaning...especially with that much standing water.
The snow around here has been great lately...I'm the only person I know who prefers to drive in snow :)

Zandy: It happened in Cali where it had been raining HARD for 2 weeks straight. I was going too fast on a freeway that wasnt grooved to flow water off of it. I was zipping along in light traffic when I basically hit a lake in the middle of the highway around a gentle downhill curve and it felt like black ice when I hit the water. Spun so fast that the water my tires was kicking up completely obscured my vision and then a big crunch then I am staring at a big Jiffy Pop bag an inch from my face still spinning around and around. Up until then it had indeed been rock steady but I think I might have hit as much as 4-6 inches of standing water...AWD dont help much then. I know I did at least four complete 360's across 3 lanes...felt like 20

Davros:
2.5RS Base price: around $17,000
WRX Base price: around $24,000
STi: around $31,000
Legacy Base price: around $20,000
go to www.vanbortelsubaru.com
you can check all the prices there
That's where I bought my car - it's all the way out in Western New York state - about 5 hours from where I live in Connecticut. But the price was about $3,500 less than if I bought the car locally!!!

I hope that those items in the back of the photo aren't for YOUR child. You're lucky they have you around.

oh - and Davros - my girlfriend has a sweet 2004 Forrester XT (turbo), and about 10 of my other friends have assorted Legacies, WRXs, or 2.5 RS's.
I convinced most of them to go Subaru - maybe I should be a salesman...
no...no I shouldn't.

my condolences for you and your WRX
you need a new front bumper...and I need a new rear bumper for mine!
What happened? Did it just start raining? Subaru AWD usually doesn't give an inch in rain...and barely gives an inch in the snow. Speaking of which...it was snowing here last night and I took my rex out for a spin...that shit ruled! There's nothing better than hitting 65mph in second gear and throwing on the e-brake in a snowy, empty parking lot :)

only that much damage from 95? shennanigans!
I was really lucky, I hit the median when i was spinning and kind of bounced off of it withut hitting any other part of the car...very lucky. If i had hit it head on i might have been a goner. As it was I wasnt even sore the next day. The airbag burned the sleeve of my shirt, that was the worst that happened to me.
