Note: this was in ubermadness, but i want it in my "portfolio" without that addition. Rate it, or not... i don't really care.

It all started one rainy afternoon, with the sun trying to poke its rays through the masses of clouds that hindered the pilot's view. We were supposed to leave from San Francisco, my new home, and then take a layover in Chicago, and then continue on to Connecticut. Today, it would be different.
This morning, you helped me pack my luggage, all three bags. You told me you would miss me, while I went to visit my family, back in Connecticut. When we made it to the airport, you tried to keep the tears in, but instead they trailed their way down your cheeks. I can not stand to be away from you for a day of work, let alone four days across the country. This morning you cried, when you saw my airplane leave San Francisco for what was thought to be only four days. When you made it through the clogged streets, with the rain pelting your back on the short walk from the train, back to our little apartment, you cried for a few minutes on our bed.
Just hours ago, you "had your way with me," as you like to call it, and now you are alone. For this, I am sorry. I shall always love you, and shall never forget your smile, your heart, or even your hair in the morning. I loved to wake up, with you holding me, and you already awake, watching me sleep. I want to kiss you once more, but it can never be.
You never watched the news, because, "It was too depressing, we might as well live for the now, rather then the then." I always thought that was sweet of you. If you had turned the TV on any channel today, however, you would have known about me. Maybe it is better that they called you, when I was supposed to be arriving in Connecticut. Maybe it is worse that they did.
I watched the tears fall down your cheeks, and onto our new rug. Lover, I shall always miss you. I wanted to embrace you, and tell you it was all a dream, we haven't woken up yet. However, this is nothing like a dream. This is the real world, and it has all come crashing down upon you today.
I did not know that you wrote a note, and put it in my bag, before I left. But when you went down to the accident site, you found it, on the street a few blocks from the crash. How it managed to find it's way to your feet, I do know, for I placed it there for you. I want you to know that I love you too, and I want to be back within your warm arms, instead my body is in a cold room, naked, and alone.
You need to understand, lover, you were my first true love, and my only love. When you came to identify my body, they gave you the ring you had given me last night. Again, the tears found their way down your cheeks, and to my cold, and stiffened face. You leaned your head down to mine, and pressed your lips against mine for a moment, one last kiss. Again, your eyes welled up with tears, and your legs would no longer work, and soon, you found yourself on the cold floor, wishing for yourself to be on the steel bed, instead of me.
Lover, I know that you will live once more. I know that you shall rise again, and find someone else to spend your life with. Lover, I as one thing of you...
