For those of you who have not heard about Kirstie Alley's new television show, I sugest you read up.

Is this a joke?

So, we're supposed to like Kirstie Alley because... shes fat? I mean, was I the only one watching cheers who didn't like her, or her acting? Look who's talking was nothing short of failure, I mean... shes really not the most skilled actress you'll ever meet. Maybe getting fat was her last shot at cash in Hollywood? Makes you think, was she no good to T.V. skinny? I wish I could sit on my ass, eat some pie, then get my own television show. I'd call it Fat NFL fan.
Heres the kicker. If the show goes big, does she have to stay fat? Isn't that illegal? Forcing her to die of a heart attack? It all seems wrong, but on the same note, it all seems right. Is it political incorrectness.. or is it basically ruining Kirstie Alley's life in front of thousands of people?
Chances are, this is just going to be sad. If North Americans can enjoy a show that doesn't feature an attractive actress (or actor) who is in perfect shape, this may just be a breakthrough for TV. It seems to have the recipe for only one thing,
Cancellation.

Kirstie Alley is fat. Since everyone knows her from the past as a leggy, thin brunette, it's going to be very difficult to seperate her "fatness" from her performance. I don't think she'll work much at this size. Looking at her imdb.com list it appears that she's stuck doing B films and tv mini-series...the kiss of death for any actor.

I know I'm in the minority here (YES! Finally I can claim the coveted minority status.) but I'm leaning toward "phat."
Now, I know, I know . . . she's fat. Hideously so. But I tend to respect the "fuck you" attitude she's taking about it, rather than a "don't look at me! I'm a monster!"
People seem to think that she should have an appropriate sense of shame about her weight, where they get this self-righteous superiority on this ONE issue I have no idea.
It isn't because it is unhealthy, the "Rock Star Lifestyle" of other celebrities isn't condemned and it is at least equally "unhealthy."
So, it comes down to the fact that her major transgression, her unpardonable sin, is being unattractive.
Which again brings me back to respecting her, "fuck you" attitude.
Yeah, the more I think about it, I'm sure she's phat.

Kirstie Alley was awful on Cheers and then. MY GOD. It was nothing short of a DOWNWARD SPIRAL. She becomes more bloated with each passing day. She's FAT. Why doesn't she lose some WEIGHT. Her new television show should be on ANIMAL PLANET. Because she's FAT.

Kirstie Alley was hot once. And I definitely preferred her over Diane in Cheers.
But to answer the question posed in the title:
fat... and i'll add disturbingly ugly.
