Three Years in Three Minutes

I stand in the kitchen,
I am contemplating what to make for dinner.
I know you don't like onions.
My mind's eye opens up just a little more, like a sinema silver screen just before the show
and you are there, in all your glory:
your red hair, millions of curly
Sweaty strands of pressed love.
That look, the look, a look of bittersweet agonizing pleasure
Renovates your face into an inhospitable "welcome" mat.
I join you, in my mind's eye, in enjoying our love. The act
Whereby you and I become inseparable, intransigent, intractable.
The noises--
I have dropped the onions into the skillet.
I am immediately needlessly apologetic.
Now I am ashamed and the stinging tears of love lately lost
Loll down my face with a slowness not enjoyed by us.
When I said I love you forever,
I did not know that forever is three years long.

I loved this. Most people/droids here don't like poetry or just can't appreciate it. So as long as you can handle the -2's, keep posting.
Also, loved Naked Pants. I am sooo on the Naery train now.
