...and i did not let the night take me away once again to mark the passage of time with its
dubious gift of slumber. I fought as a warrior does for the prize - morning, dawn.
and it was all that i thought it could be, shiny and fresh, still filled
with promise of what could be and should be.
and i greeted the dawn as i always should have, with coffee and cigarette and views most
majestic. this is what i have been seeking all along the beauty of half twilight,
before the harsh rays of the yellow sun licked at the landscape with a devilish tongue
meant for one thing and one thing only- to take away this beauty, this esoteric change
over point, the change of the guards between the all encompassing blackness and the blatant
reality of full, ugly, daylight.
and so i stopped. and for once watched the world pass me by, marveling
at its beauty and serenity for just a few precious minutes outside of the confines of
what we term 'life'. and i was once again the primal creature i was meant to be,
free and unburdened by the pressures of modern society a free spirit,
all bemused with the intensity, the beauty of this place we call earth as it was meant
to be. and for the first time in a very long while i was truly happy.
and i would venture out on this day, this extremely special day, not burdened with being
torn from the blackness into harsh reality, but ready to see the day blossom into the
beautiful delicate flower it was destined to become.
and on this special day i saw the world as it was, and realised that the world didn't
hate me today, and i didn't have to hate it back. and i was filled with joy that my
world had given me the gift of seeing its love, even just for a day, so on other days,
days not so special as this particular day, i would remember what the world really
looked like when viewed by a free spirit, not blinded by the rules and regulations
of this evil modern life we are forced to adhere to.
