Yesterday i was on a cooking mission, just recently ive been really getting into it again, i tend to look on the BBC food website for inspiration and then buy the ingredients on the way home from work and start cooking when i get in, i used to see it as a chore but now i find it helps me wind down from work.

Recently i have made some superb dishes, my finest hour was probably a Thai green curry with monkfish and tiger prawns, well nice, its a Rick Stein recipe, he's the daddy. Anyways last night was a big moment for me, i grew my first pube, but then after that i decided to make my first ever steak and ale pie.

I love steak and ale pie, i usually go to the pub on a sunday for lunch about twice a month, i tend to scan the menu to see what they make but if in any kind of doubt i go for the pie option. I live in a little yocal village which has 8 pubs which all do really good pub grub so i tend to vary which one i go in.

Anyways, i thought, wouldnt it be good if i could recreate this work of art in my own home. so i searched a few different websites for some ideas and i gathered some information on various techniques but my general opinion was that i was gonna make a kind of hybrid which i could call my own, or deny all knowledge of.

So on my lunch break i went to Tesco's and bought the ingrediants i didnt have at home, this included, Bacon, Pastry mix and a bottle of Guinness. I took it all back to my house and got back to work on time, i sat there all day with my stomach rumbling in anticipation and salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs.

So the clock struck 5:30 and i raced home in my Mini Cooper, old school mini not one of the new Nazi Wagons. I got in and had a quick wank, i always feel it helps the flavour of whatever dish im about to make and for some reason i started singing "SPAM UUUUUP" that advert is mental. So anyways without further a do my recipe foe a GOD LIKE steak and ale pie (with bacon and potatoes and onions)

350g Irish Stewing Beef
100g New Potatoes diced (as opposed to old. snigger) (i dont eat buns that were made yesterday, i eat current buns. good old steve coogan)
2 Rashers of bacon
1 medium red onion sliced
1 bottle of guinness
some flour
mustard powder
salt and pepper

So, get the steak cut it up into bite sized pieces and put the potatoes on the boil.
Mix 50g of flour with some salt and plenty of pepper
Roll the meat in this mix
Put some oil in a pan and brown the meat for about 5 minutes on a medium heat
Remove the meat <snigger> and put the chopped onions in and fry them for a bit
When the potatoes are nice and bolied put them in with the onions
Pours some guinness

FUCK this im bored now. it tasted nice the end

Was it edible though? Or did it look like a piece of modern art -shit?

out, I'd find out where he lives, and tear him a new belly button.
