Yeah its not very cool, but it's my favorite time of the day. You can have the streets to yourself and the only sound is the distant white noise of the other early risers pounding down the freeway.
I'm usually up at 4:45, make some coffee, do some stretches and get my son ready. By 10 after 5 he's strapped into his backpack, the dog is leashed and I'm on my way. On a weekday I'm only gone for about 30-45 minutes but on the weekends I have been known to roam the streets and trails for hours. I point out things to my little guy and tell him what they are, sometimes he will sing for me. I live for that.
By the time the sun is up, I've been wide awake for an hour. The flip side is that most nights I am completely passed out by 10 o'clock. Kind of makes it hard to see friends since thats when it seems they finally have figured out where they are going to party that night. Oh well, they have their world now...I have mine.
*ps- all the colors in these pics are true, I only messed with the brightness and contrast.

I'm the exact opposite: I finish work at 3am, stay up til about 8 or 9am then go to work at 6pm. But there's something nice about going to bed as the day begins too. Makes me feel like a vampire (that and my insatiable lust for human blood).
