There is very little content to this post. It's for GLALL in reference to this comment: http://www.ubersite.com/m/58000#1102821
These are all done with acrylic paint on large canvases ranging from 2'X3' up to 4'x7'. A quick summary.
Top Left: Called "Don't!" Acrylic on canvas measuring 4x5. I painted it last summer.
Top Right: Called "No Such Thing" Acrylic, paper, and metal on canvas, measuring 2x3. The figures are made from a textures tissue paper that gives them the look of having veins. Underneath them is the word "forever" in metal.
Bottom Right: Called "You Can't Make me, I Don't Wanna!" Acrylic, paper and metal on canvas, measuring 4x7. one of the figures is a paper cut-out, all of them are reaching for the word "family" done in metal, covered by textured tissue paper.
Bottom Left: My personal favourite, called "I Cannot Be Loved Enough" Acrylic, metal and paper measuring 3x5. The figure is surrounded by metal words that say "cherish," "priceless," and "always."

These were good. But I think if you'd cut the titles off, they'd have been excellent.

I remember someone posting their bland tired artwork on here before. It was generic paint what you see crap with no meaning. THIS is art.

GLALL... I'll stick to acrylics. They do what I want them to, when I want them to, and I don't have to wait 50 years for them to dry. I have about 20 brushes that I use when I paint, but after about an hour of work, I tend to forego the brushes and just use my fingers. Oils are also a bitch to clean up.

Stick with the oils next time Lass, give it a shot. You can end up with some wonderful art that starts out looking like a big ball of vomit, but eventually starts to come together. I also suggest using three or four brushes if you want to keep it from getting out of control.

I was a Painter for a summer one year,
One of the guys I worked with was a painter (artistic, not domestic) he was really pissed off all the time.
Another was a writer (artistic, not domestic) he was really happy.
I just thought the job sucked, so I did it really half assed

Personally, what I like about your paintings that no one has commented on yet are the titles (almost typed titties there by accident), which I personally feel gives your painting a wealth of emotional depth and an impact they might not otherwise have. Regardless of title, your paintings contain powerful imagery. The combination is very powerful and palpable.
Perhaps that's why I like "Don't" the most and "You can't make me I don't wanna" the least. I wish I could see these close up.
You're awfully brave and impressive.

You art is very dark and lonely. Each picture has a faceless person either reaching out or looking downwards. I only say this because I think art is an extension of our emotions(like how I paint pictures of dogs and other animals - i am insane). You blend your colors well, and I like the contrast of dark colors. Don't consider this a critique but if you want to branch out next time I would try going more vibrant, loud, but keep it dark and in your realm.
This is well done. It takes a lot of balls to do something like this. Usually I would do something crazy like say "carnyack bandita" and throw a horse over a bridge now but this is not the time or place.
