"Is it not enough to know the path ends
Here?" she said. He look'd towards the ending
To show the disagreement in his soul.
"I've always thought there might be something more.
I've always thought it might go on without
A limit or else do a circuit and
Come back on itself, for one to journey
Forever." "I think us cognoscenti
Shall never be content with what's on show."
She took his hand in hers and held his gaze.
"I can see your regret though you try to
Hide it. Do you wish that things had been done
Another way now that the path has stopped?
That you had taken a different path,
To see what else it had in store for you?"
He nodded quietly. "I might have lik'd
To have viewed other views, and taken risks.
But I suppose those paths might have ended
Earlier." "I'm happy you realise that.
We could not have known that the path ended
Here, until we found that it had ended.
I've no regrets about taking this path.
I'm glad we walked it together and not
Alone." He smiled at her, now contented.
They left the forest of the paths behind,
And discovered the untouch'd world outside.

Think your way out of that, I guess...

Thought this was great. Imagery and symbolism was well used, hidden by just a little. And knowing you, it helps me connect to the poem a lot more than the generic reader i think.

Frank Ormsby would be proud of you, man.

I can just imagine it now...

"No, sir, it means this...I should know, I wrote the fucking thing!"

lol

Again, even if this sucked, to cancel out that fish-smelling cunt, I'd give it a +2.

Well done. I loved the picture you picked to go along with it.

Your title made me think "Existentialism" and the picture made me think of Pink Floyd's "Dogs." And, seeing as it kicks ass, +2. Also, this was intriguing. But short--short you lazy bastard!

Oh, I always wanted to be a teamster. So lazy and surly.
