This is but a side story to the universe created by Potatomanjack79 (PMJ)
http://www.ubersite.com/m/53914

It is not intended to replace the project that he has taken upon himself, but rather to compliment it. It is my hope to enhance the obvious hours of work PMJ has spent with this world of Uber.
For background info, read the link provided.

Enjoy.

The children of the village of Victorin gazed at Hell.

Gone was the sun from the sky, expelled by clouds of smoke and lightning. Gone was the gentle breeze that had danced with the children on the small hill just beyond the sleepy shacks and cottages. Gone were the smiles of childhood bliss and the sounds of youthful gayety. The little ones huddled close to one another upon the hill, tears of shock and horror welling, as they bore unwilling witness to the carnage presented to them below. Fire swept into their homes of wood and straw, lightning seared through their little church, and darkness gripped the land of their birth, the only places they had every known in their young lives.

Then came forth the music of Hell: laughter, horrid, horrid laughter, of a pitch that brought the children to their knees, tiny hands desperately covering tiny ears desperately trying to block out this symphony of madness. The children were wailing in fear now, for they all realized with absolute certainty what was unfolding before them: the dark creatures they had been told about so many times as they laid fearful in their beds, the black monsters that haunted their dreams and bid them to stay out of the woods, the nightmares their parents had spoken of again and again, had come at last to claim them.

Thus did Hell's Swarm come to Victorin.

Demons of all sort appeared from the trees, engulfing the village in a wave of claw and horn. Men and women ran before their diabolic might, some collapsing to their knees, begging the monsters to spare them, only to be answered by the rending of their flesh and bones. Fire now did spread from building to house to shack to shed, consuming and destroying with a zeal rival to that of the marauding things that had caused its birth. The smell of blood and gore rose, climbing the small hill to where the children of the village remained, sending their tiny bodies into fits and spasms, causing not a few to vomit. At last one little girl, wild blonde hair matted with tears across her face, screamed. She had just seen her mother cleaved in two.

Then did the demons stop. Then did the faces of the hell spawn turn towards the hill where the children yet remained. Grins of wicked malice appeared on their burnt and misshapen faces.

They rushed as one towards the hill, surrounded it, and advanced.

The children all began to cry and scream, some calling for their parents, still believing they could end it all, as young children would think their parents as gods. But none would come now, as their parents were now nothing more than kindling to the great bonfire that had once been Victorin. The evil ones walked slowly up the green hill, savoring the terror of the small humans, drinking in their sobs and cries. When they were within a few paces from the quivering mass of innocent humanity, they stopped. A particularly large demon, the leader of the band that had been commanded to raze the village, approached the children. He kneeled before them, dwarfing their shivering bodies with his massive frame.

"Come now, be not afraid." His deep voiced made the children once more cover their ears, but the content of his words confused them.
"Tell me, why would you fear us?," he continued. "Quickly now, speak up!" The other demons cackled softly, enjoying the fun game being played upon their prey.
"We promise that no harm will come to you. Why, you're only children, what would we want with you?" The massive demon smiled, with what might have been construed as warmth. The children, still sobbing, began to rise to their feet, not knowing what to think. They began to walk, slowly and cautiously, toward the kneeling monster. Two children still remained huddled: the girl of wild blonde hair who had attracted the monsters to the hill, and a small boy, clutching her to him.

Those children that had approached the kneeling demon stood before him, unsure and afraid.
The kneeling demon smiled at them, then winked.
Those children that had approached were then swiftly devoured.

The girl of wild blonde hair screamed once more, tore herself from the little boy's grasp and ran towards a small opening made during the ensuing tumult the feeding had caused. She was promptly scooped up by the monster's leader, the same who had knelt before the trusting children, the same who had squelched their innocent hope. Then did the great beast turn to the small boy, who stood motionless, eyes wide, mouth open, unable to utter a sound.

"What is your name, last son of Victorin?" asked the demon. "Speak, or I shall surely do unto her what was done to your playmates."
The boy did not raise his face to look at the dark horror or his tiny captive. But there did come, barely audible amongst the cackling of the assembled monstrosity around him, a reply: "My n-name..i-is Bizdorph."

All the demons laughed. Their leader simply nodded.
Then simply bit the girl of wild blonde hair's head off.
Then did the voices first speak to Bizdorph, then only 7 years of age.

"Dance with us, boy," did the voices say, "be not afraid. Dance, sing, make music with us. Let the filthy things hear our song...let the Earth shake with our melody, the waters quake with the rhythm of our rage. Come...let us make them pay..."

The Blades of Bedlam Order were growing impatient.

For over a week had they been tracking the small host of demons. No sign, no rest, no luck. For the men, it was all the more frustrating that they were being led by a woman.

Lojope had been sensing the growing resentment for some time now. She had known from the start that when she was appointed commander of this mission, her gender would supersede any authority she would attempt to exercise. For she commanded soldiers of the Blades of Bedlam Order, the most elite corps of shock troops within the vast reaches of the Maelstrom Empire. And here they were, following a mage. Strength and skill with a sword they respected, not a curvaceous female of low cut blue dressing and oaken staff. Lojope was beginning to think that a quick explanation of her appointment of leadership through the use of a magical lightning storm was in order....

The explosion was a half mile away at least, but the force still knocked everyone to the ground. Birds and beast of all sorts ran past them, fleeing what apparently was the sight of Earth-shattering carnage. When the Lojope and her troops finally arrived at the remains of Victorin, many of them wondered aloud if perhaps they should have joined the animals in their flight.

Bits and pieces of flesh were strewn about as far as they could see, black blood splashed everywhere. Half torn faces and severed limbs informed the hunters that there quarry had already been disposed of, and in spectacular fashion. Quick jolts of electricity surged here and there, small flames still burned amid the wreckage. Lojope had no doubt that magic had been employed here...great magic.

It was an hour before they found Bizdorph, the only thing still whole and intact amongst the wreckage. His tiny frame lay naked within a wide crater, where once the green hill had been. Then did Lojope take Bizdorph, away from his home, and back to the fortress walls of the capital city. For clearly, this small boy was going to one day become of might wielder of the magic arts.

That night, Bizdorph sat in his new room within the confines of Lojope's tower. He had been given new clothes, new toys, anything a boy his age could desire. Everything save his family. He began to cry, the image of his friends consumed by the legion of black devils burning in his tiny heart. Then again did the voices speak.

"We know that you hurt. We know that you can never be happy again. Except with us. Except when we make our music together. And soon, we shall dance for all of Hell's Swarm, and they will hear your symphony of revenge. For we alone can make you happy, last son of Victorin. And you alone, Bizdorph, can make our song real...."

I feel like Kevin Bacon in Footloose, only my dancing kills things instead of making me pick up chicks.

That wasn't very nice, zakalwe, but I too am interested to see how I die.

I can't in good conscience negative two this. Even if it had sucked (which it definitely didn't) I would have to +2 it.

This is a really cool idea, and you're doing it quite well...must be difficult to do these without messing up the status quo in PMJ's story.

Oh wow. Could you do one on/for me? I'm... Well, here's my info if you want to include me in this in some way.

LadyPlural - Duchess of the Blazing Doom & Member of the Dark Council
The second most powerful clan in Hell's Swarm is The Blazing Doom. LadyPlural sits on the Dark Council as the head of this clan, and continually vies for her clan to become the most powerful in the Swarm, so that her influence upon Swam activities would increase accordingly. There is no love loss between her and Degreeless_Capibara.

If not, that's fine. And whether or not you decide to write about my character, this is an utterly kickass interpretation. Continue, please.
