There are two things in this world that I can't stand: intolerance of other cultures and the Dutch.

I suggest a battle to the death between our respective prime ministers.

My dad is still angry that way back sometime before he had a beer gut, they preempted the last two minutes of football for Heidi.

ah here we go: http://www.nfl.com/news/mostmemorable10.html

I'm pretty sure he blames your entire country.

What's wrong about the prime minister.

~The meeting with G.W. Bush.~

While our own prime minister heads towards the office of the American president, which was caught on camera, the PM looked like a little kid who gets to sit on the lap of Santa Claus. He assured the people back home that this was a grand moment for our country to smooth over relations (at the time, Europe and the US weren't on good terms because of the whole Iraq invasion thing). He actually thought that he had a major role to play in the coming events. Moments before the PM enters the office, we can hear G.W. say "What's his name again? I can't remember it!".

Ok, this says a lot about Bush, I'm sure. I'm all in for bashing that cowboy. But then again, it says a lot about the importance that moment had for George.

The whole visitation was 'cause for a lot of debate, and lots of satirical programs had a field day because of the whole event. Hilarious, yet oh so tragic.

~The death of Theo van Gogh.~

While the whole country is in a state of uproar, our pm comes on TV. Emotionless, he adresses the public, that we are to keep calm yadda yadda yadda etc.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping the peace. But our PM first went to a mosque in Amsterdam (the one the shooter was a member of) to show his good will, speaking for the whole nation.

It took more than two goddamn weeks for him to pass on his sympathies for the familie van Gogh left behind. The hypocrite. As van Gogh's next of kin, they were also victims. But instead, the PM goes on and talk to the people the killer hangs with as if he singlehandedly could make an end to all of world terrorism.
Again, this behaviour raised a lot of questions and spraked a lot of debate.

~The prime minister's day out.~
The Island group Netherlands Antilles has close ties with the rest of the Netherlands, it's a semi-official part of the kingdom but it has it's own government. To promote relations between the two parts the prime minister took his wife and daughter to meet a bunch of other political big wigs, yadda yadda yadda. Not all that important.

A little background info: our school system is pretty strict, in order to get your kid a day off from school for whatever the reason takes a lot of effort to pull off, unless it's a funeral of a closely related family member or something. But what's totally weird, is the fact that the prime minister could take his kid along for, what essentially is, a business trip. To make matters worse, he did this a week before the school holiday officially starts. Again, a debate was on back home.

I could go on for this for a long time. Basically, the guy is a douchebag with a warped view of reality. I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks all the people voted for him because of his resemblance to Harry Potter, instead of the program of his party.

Maybe I'd do a montage next time of all his slip ups, could be fun.

Bah, I'm going to bed, 2:33 now and I'm starting to get tired. Fuck all the typos.

Pretty good, but there are a few things that are a little ify.

This is the first thing that jumps to my attention:

"Our recent History is a troubled one. Allow me to show you a few mistakes in our
recent history."

No problem with grammar--just repetitive.

Also, Your points are shaky. You say the prime minister is an embarrassment, and
the only reason seems to be because he looks like Harry Potter. I'd wager that G.W.
would get similar reviews, but it would be more defined by his actions than because
of his goofy "i'd like me some polecat" expressions.

Same goes for Pim. I guess he was a disgrace because he didn't have a structures plan
....or because he lied to get votes. Sounds like every other politician to me.

If you were brazen you could have made parallels to JFK and show how people
love a man after his death, more so than they ever loved him when he was alive.

I'll end it here. I have more, but I'm already on your shitlist.

I visited your quaint little country many years ago as a kid, before the "legalized" week unfortunately, nice folks; but my main memories are of some asshole inn-keeper who groused at me for getting my shoes on the bedspread and all the used condoms floating in the canals. My parents tried to tell me the condoms were shed fish skins, but i knew they were just bullshitting me.

Anyway when y'all are finally beheaded or subjugated by the jihadis I shall shed a single tear in your memory.
