I just got out of watching Hide and seek. (spoiler) The end of which shows that Robert Deniro is the man he seeks (Charlie) that his daughter is having a relationship with. Now the point of this ponder isn't to decide anything in regards to split personalities, but what happens to us when we die and go to heaven/hell (assuming we thats what lies beyond)

What i derrived from this movie is that some part of us carries on. Something between our personality and our morals supposedly carries on. Now what do you do with someone who is mentally disabled that cannot keep good morals or even a comprehensible personality due to this disability and probably no morals to speak of. Once again, the specifics of this don't matter. Its the simple fact that not all of us grow up to be any sort of models for society or even the bible. Even if we do develope enough and live our lives accordingly, how do we resemble ourselves in heaven if we are inherently disabled in personality due to a physical handicap of a loagical thinking organ such as the brain. Does heaven correct all this and redevelope how we would have been. Would it allow us to omniciently know what we didn't know before to circle around this handicap of the living aspect of our lives. Or do we live out eternity with the same disfunction.

Pretty much a directionless thought but still a worthy one in my book.

I've always believed that Earth is heaven and hell.

I believe a perfect heaven would be hell. Humanity strives off chaos and Earth is just about as chaotic as she gets before it starts getting bad. Whether we make Earth more heavenly or not is up to us and us alone. We are in charge of our own lives and have rights and responsibilities, love and hate, life and death. I can't think of anything more heavenly than something you can create for yourself, and that's where we are now.

But as for when we die; i have no idea. One day I'll find out for you, ok?

Nature is the great equalizer. A severely mentally disabled person is incapable of immorality, the dwell entirely in the realm of nature, without reason, which is divine by creation. It is when we act in conflict with nature, and do not exercise our Divinely bestowed ability to reason, that we suffer.

We don't need to go hug trees and quit swearing. Nature and reason are inherent in all things, at it is to those two forces which we must all answer, one day. Immutable and eternal, this is what we must attune our lives to in order to prosper (prosperity being defined within the parameters of nature and reason, not what you see on TV or in the mall) as best we can.

PROOF: seen any retards in the gutter lately? Crack head retards? Do they break in your cars? How about severely retarded people beating their kids in teh parking lot down at the mall?

Nope. Their survival necessitates an aversion to actions which are unnatural and outside the realm of reason. Of course they don't make these choices, their caregivers do it for them. However, an absense of a) false pride and b) false ego make this possible. You and I, as spoiled north american adults, would struggle trying to live like that. It's all realative to one's ability, or lack thereof.

I donno where "we" go after we die. I hope my electrical energy gets absorbed by the planet somehow, and comes back out in some other manifestation. It's gotta go somewhere. I never seen that 13.87352 Grams movie, think it was aboyt that kind a stuff.

I have read a lot of websites on near death experiences and I was reading about this woman who was blind in life and was having an operation. Apprently her spirit left her body and she saw everything in vivid colour, including the operating room she was in and heaven, which she visited for a brief time before the doctor was able to resuciate her, much to her dismay as she was once again blind. I'm not saying this is true cause who knows what to believe on the internet, but if it is then there's your answer.

Thanks for the promise. I'll look forward to that visit

Still, if you come to life with a soul that is inherently evil, then thats saying there is no hope to change what you are and where you will go. However, saying that you do stand a chance is to say we can alter our souls, or what we are composed of, and therefor where we end up. someone disabled mentally can have a very different life that would mean severe altering for worse or better do to a disability in some ways for the worse if he/she doesn't actually control their actions. So, like in the movie, a split personality kills his wife. Returning to hisself, who is to blame? Same person i suppose so its really not that debatable. Just figure a disability is a way of life. A way of life is a way to enter or exit what some are blessed to spend eternity in

I don't think you have the right idea of what a soul is. It has no connection to the physical body in the essence of disabilities. A person's soul is like a perfect mirror image of them, not what they are like, but what they are composed of. That's why some people seem to be inherently evil, or ignorant. They refuse to believe that the soul even exists. This doesn't really help though, I don't know what happens after life, yet. If I die I'll come and tell you all about it.

I like what Mike Birbiglia says. What if Heaven is just a Wendy's in Ohio? And hell is just a really long line at the post office.

I want to share something with you -- the three little sentences that will
get you through life. Number one, `Cover for me.' Number two, `Oh, good
idea, boss.' Number three, `It was like that when I got here.'
