I don't care if some other people have already said their piece.

I'm not here to give a bunch of faggy poetry, for that's never been my way. All I can say is, well...

Fuck, man. I'm gonna miss him.

In a virtual universe of writers, in this league and that, genre to genre, whatever- The Good Doctor stood alone. Alone. Just like he died...

It's funny to think about, that throughout his rich and interesting life, the only thing that could kill him was himself.

Perhaps, at the moment, the negative aspect of this saddening situation is eclipsing my ability to distingush the good things through the weeds of the bad. It'll take some time.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna step out of my head tonight.

I've never read any of his stuff but I bought Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas today and plan on reading it this weekend if I can. He seemed like a really kick ass dude and that it sucks that he's gone but it was his decision and so I'll honor that.

Wasn't the date of his death also Kurt Cobain's birthday? Weeeird.

In his will, he stated that he wished to be shot out of a cannon after death. His family is willing to accomodate his wish.

"We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold."

Had a tribute to him on Triple J (Australian Radio Station) this afternoon where a journalist said he had rung him at the Woody Creek Tavern to ask for an interview. HST told him to he could fuck off or come over...

I'm gonna have to get my hands on some kind of psychedelic soon. I'll hold my own "funeral".

Might throw some sour mix in with the scotch. Have two packs of full flavored menthol cigarettes to go with it. That's my contribution. In no way am I going to try and write something in honor of HST.
