"Then tell me to blow my brains out." I tell her, stonefaced. I hold the gun to my head and cock it, enjoying the cold, emotionless click. It never fails to rattle the system. I don't give a damn how tough you are, a loaded gun to your skull will send whatever balls you have slipping back up your ass.
I don't let the rush I get show and I keep eye contact. Play it cool. Let the silence hang and hang and hang.
I can tell it's getting to her. Bitches love to use silence against men. Always thinks that it'll make us fester. I don't know in what. Guilt? Fuck that. I've never had that problem. Call it what you may, I know it's usually a sign of a real asshole. I am not going to avoid any sort of accusations. I know I'm no angel. Far fom it.
"I...I already told you to." She stammers. The bitch can hardly make words now, her eyes darting all over the place, never meeting mine. When push comes to shove, women can't handle the real world. Sure, they live through the death and destruction, but if ever faced with it head on, they crumble. Every time. Annie ain't no different, that's for sure.
I push the pistol into my temple, hard. I press my finger even harder on the trigger, making my hand shake so that she can see it. I can feel a smirk play on my face, "You said that because you were pissed. Tell me again. I'd love to hear it. I ain't afraid of death. Remember: I killed your husband and your pops without a flinch. All for you. What makes you think I won't end myself? I love you with all my heart."
I'll tell you all right now, I don't love her. I barely even know her. I have my reasons, though. Through her, it'll be one more step to being king. She's just a blow up doll to me. True, a very expensive blow up doll, but it won't make the difference in the end. She'll have an "accident" after I'm done with my brothers and all will fall into place.
"You...You're lying. I don't know you..." I can see the tears well up in her eyes. She turns away and holds her head. I just can't believe how she's buying it...It's just too funny. Fucking ridiculous. I don't know what's worse, the depths to which I'm stooping, or the fucking heights of her ignorance.
"I don't lie. I speak what I feel." I make sure to stand stock still. Make the sentences short. Let her feel how real this all is. Let the idea of her killing someone sink in nice and deep. I can hear my breathing, my heartbeat. It's all kind of exciting, I'm actually believing my bullshit.
"I...You're a liar!" She faces me. Stands right up in front of me, trying to stare me down. I know it can't last long. I'm the one with the gun, the power.
I muster up some emotion into my eyes and reply, "Then no man is true. If I'm lying now, then every fucking one is a liar. If you believe this, tell me to pull the trigger. Avenge your husband."
She loweres her head, letting out a hiccup of a sob, her shoulders shaking. She does her best to compose herself as she takes in a breath, "No...No...Put the gun down...Please."
"Then we're good?" I put the gun into my pocket, putting on the safety beforehand, of course.
"I think so."
"We're friends now, I hope?"
"Everyone hopes..." She trials off.
I take this as my moment and hold her close. I take her face all romantic-like, looking into her eyes. I smile and lean forward, pressing my lips against hers. With no fight left in her, she finally falls into the kiss. I play it chaste. You know, no tongue or anything. I cock my head to the side and the kiss ends. Her eyes are all watery and, I ain't gonna lie, are sparkly and pretty. There's a grace to her, even in the state she's in now. I smile at her and reach into my other pocket. From it I produce a ring. Taking her hand, I put the ring onto her finger.
"This...this ring is my heart. Now you wear it. Keep the ring...and keep my heart. I love you, Annie. No one else. Please...accept it?"
Her cheeks were a bright red and the absolute look of confusion that crossed her face, on any other occasion, would send me into hysterics. I stifle the idea and maintain the look of a humble lover and kiss her hand. She opened her mouth to speak several times and found no words. Who could say anything? This whole thing is crazy.
Annie finds some control and nods her head dumbly. I jump up and kiss her. Blood rushes into all the right places and I let my hand slip up her shirt, cradling her breast. She lets her tongue slide into my mouth in that oh-so-nice way girls do and I break the kiss. Picking her up, I put her over my back and head out for the car. I'll drive to a romantic place where we can..."consummate" a day well done. Or I'll just fuck her brains out. Whatever comes first.
That's right, I'll live up to her standards for now. Play the part. Spend some money and dress nice. Take her out. Fuck her till she screams. Then when I've had my fill, I'll get rid of her and be king.

Btw, I don't think Leo can do it unless he gets some big time disfigurement. Richard was a hunchback....Ian McKellan was Richard III. But I'm no good at casting anyhows so I won't make any bigtime speculations.

That was a really good post. I really liked the way you "captured" your narrators voice, if I can use a cheesy term. That's two great posts in a row. I got my eye on you, missy.
However, I am a little confused as to what was going on, with the husband-killing and such. Who is that a portrait of? King Richard, or some French king?
