Is this the end of Time?
I was watching TV last night, which is a rare thing for me to do, when I saw this brief commercial for a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom special on a story about an adult lioness that raises a baby antelope as her own. http://www.mutualofomaha.com/about/press/02102005.html
I could not help but flash back to my biblical upbringing and that verse in Isaiah that describes this strange activity. Actually, I didn't know for sure where it was, but after some research, I found it, so I thought I might share it with you.
[11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ]
Pretty eerie, huh?

I have read it, and I have to say, there are very, very few time periods in recorded human history where you would not be able to back-fit coincidences to be able to claim that it's uncanny.

You're all right about the fact that people have been saying this for hundreds, even thousands of years. I'm not saying anything either way - it just seems a little strange that a wild lion would display this type of behavior. I don't know what it means. This was the first thing I thought of though when I saw it.
I will tell you this much... If you read and listen to some of the interpretations of the book of Revelations and other Biblical prophesy as it might be applied to our times, it can get a bit uncanny. This doesn't have to mean that it's true or false, just that it's pretty uncanny. Draw your own conclusions.

Throw in our increasingly unusual weather patterns due to our burning of fossil fuels and global warming, not to mention unjust wars with a religious edge to them, and yea, it's pretty fucked up.

That's what I am waiting to see... Or will this spell the entrance into a new era in lion/antelope diplomatic relations. Maybe we'll soon see those peace talks we can't seem to get together in the Middle East. Or maybe this can be a beacon of hope or some such shit.
After all, if it's possible to come to a symbiotic mutual agreement across boundaries of species, then it should SURELY be possible across boundaries of religion, after all, we're supposed to be the intelligent ones, right?

I almost did a post about this today (but I didn't know about the lion thing).
