It was all a misunderstanding, I UNDERSTAND that. There's no need for anyone to do something we'll all regret later.

Listen, I'm sorry about what happened between me and Keiko. I died a little myself the day she threw herself from the bridge. If I'd known she would do that, I would never have ended things like I did, but you have to understand, we just weren't right together. Sure I cared for her but I didn't love her like she loved me. Staying with her any longer would have been a lie.
I know you probably won't believe me but I was honest with her from the start. I was brutally honest actually. I told her all along that I didn't want the things she wanted. I told her that I liked spending time with her but I never promised anything beyond that. How was I to know she'd take her own life?

Timothy took a step back and proudly surveyed the end result of the afternoon's labor then turned and gave Digger a friendly swat on the back.
"Looks good" said Digger with a smile.
Timothy nodded without looking at his friend, content to let his eyes drink in the vision before him.
"There's not nearly as much blood as I thought there would be" he commented.
"Aye" replied Digger "The nails seem to be holding just fine though... how long do you think he'll scream like that for?"
"Couple hours at least would be my guess"
"Sweet"
"Yeah"
The two men stood and admired there handiwork awhile longer before Timothy, once again, broke the silence between them.
"Did you hear all that crap he was saying about his girlfriend?"
"Ex-Girlfriend" replied Digger "Yeah I did. This bloke has a hell of a guilty conscience"
Timothy nodded solemnly "Yeah, were probably doing this guy a favor. He's so frantic with guilt he thinks we're Japanese"
"Whatever, just another one cut from the herd as far as I'm concerned... I have to hand it to you Tim. You come up with the best ideas"
Timothy retrieved a bowl of popcorn from the table beside him, took a handful then offered some to his friend before replying.
"The ideas come to me when I sleep. I wake up in the morning and I know exactly what I have to do"
"So you woke up this morning and you just knew we were going to crucify some guy today?"
"Something like that, yes"
"Fucking brilliant"
"Thanks"
"You're very welcome, just do me a favor. Don't dump me like this cold hearted bastard would"
Both men chuckled at Digger's joke for a moment then sat in content silence for a time before Timothy answered.
"No worries" he said as he leaned closer to the man nailed to the makeshift wooden cross before them "I think I've learned my lesson"

I highly recommend "A Confederate General from Big Sur" and "In Watermelon Sugar".

I was a long time ago but I haven't read anything by him in years, which is kinda stupid because I'm about 3 books behind in the Dark Tower series.
I know what you're getting at though, he links alot of his stuff.
I'm more of a Barker fan these days, although that's not exactly true either.
The last book I read was Big Sur by Jack Kerouak for the 4th time.
Previous to that it was 3 Dorsey novels.

I don't know. This just didn't have enough of a context associated with it for me to really get into it as deeply as I usually do with your writing. I mean, it's still good, but not up to your usual levels of kickassery.

Well kind of I guess. They picked him randomly that's true.
I just went through a situation where I had to end a relationship because, despite what I told her, the girl in question was way to attached.
It was a very hard thing to do and a nasty situation all around.
I guess this is me dealing with it in my own perverse way.
Part of me feels righteous and part of me feels like I should be the guy on the cross.
