For decades children and adults have enjoyed the imaginary future created by Gene Robbenberry and the creative teams which have worked around him. One of Star Trek's early guiding lights was Gene Coon, who created the Klingons.
Most of us, either hardcore Trek fans or casual watchers, are familiar with the Klingon race. What most people don't realize is that familiarity with the barbaric Klingons is a lesson in dealing with the warped and violent mindset of Islamic Fundamentalists, which most of us have only become aware of since 9/11.
What follows is a comparison between the Klingons of Star Trek and Muslim extremists, and a clear indication that the easiest way to accept our uneasiness about hating another part of the human race is to simply think of them as Klingons. This mindset will make beating them down and, if need be, exterminating them, much easier to deal with.
Traits shared by Islamofascists and Klingons:
-They don't like foreigners/outsiders
-They don't want to share or 'just get along,' they want everything done their way.
-Tribal/clan mentalities and attitudes shape many decisions in life
-They speak weird, gutteral languages
-Their written language is a ridiculous conglomeration of squiggles, slashes and dots, without the grace of Japanese or the symbolic artistry of Chinese
-Their homelands are nasty places
-They are technologically backward in many respects
-Their females are treated harshly
-When there are more than two of them together, they are usually yelling at each other
-Leadership is rarely attained through any democratic process - it is usually attained through violence
-They strive to die in battle against the enemy in that they might attain honor and enter the afterlife
-They are perfectly willing to blow themselves to bits if it means striking back at the enemy
-Their proverbs and sayings frequently incite violence
Klingon: "A running man can slit a thousand throats in one night."
Koran: "When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield strike off their heads and, when you have laid them low, bind your captives firmly."
