Well, you lived almost a year, buddy. It was a great year, though. Ups and downs, you know. You seemed happy, too, so I like to think you went out with a bang. You really rocked my world when I saw you before the burial. I hated seeing you so stiff and lifeless.
You and I, we had a lot of good times together. I remember when you used to rest your head next to mine in the middle of the night. Yeah, those memories are the ones I'll keep forever. Some things about you.. I'll never be able to explain. I don't want to ever be able to explain them, either.
Heh, that's the story of your life, isn't it? You always zigged when you should've zagged. Only this time you zagged in front of a car. I was the first to see you. My heart turned inside out when I saw your head, slightly flattened, with a popped eyeball, lying on the side of the road.
Then, at the burial, when the first shovelful of dirt went into the hole, I cried. I remember wishing so badly that you'd wake up and jump up into my arms.. just to say goodbye before you left. But hey, I'm sure you would have if you could have.
But anyways, I'm running out of things to say. Just have fun up in the sky. I'll be with you eventually, and we can be the friends we were before you went. Just don't do this to me again. Please.
Rest In Peace

My sincerest condolences on your dead kitty. I had a cat die once, and I don't think I've ever cried so hard.
I sort of go w/ Williamson on the rating. IM me if you're around.

I'm sorry to hear about Cat. I know how much he meant to you. He'll be waiting for you,
though, in kitty heaven. (You never know, though... he just might come back to you in the
guise of another kitten needing to be rescued.)
I'll be thinking of you.
Love.

That is (was) one incredibly cute feline. I'm very sorry for the loss. I used to make fun of people who were sentimental about their pets, I'd laugh at them when they spoke to them, or rubbed them, or treated them like people. But now I have my own cat, and I'm an absolute turd because I talk to him constantly and call him stupid names. But Silus, my cat, rocks and so did yours. Best memories.

Oooooh, poor kitty. I'm sorry to hear that.
I know this will not help, but I'll share my traumatic cat story anyway. Our 18-y/o cat got killed by a pack of dogs. Our neighbor of 15 years saw it happen (too late to do anything), and he figured that it would be a bad thing for me and my sister to come home from school and find a dead cat in the driveway, so he very kindly buried the cat. Only problem was, he buried him in THE WRONG YARD. I don't know how he got confused or anything, but he did. We ended up exhuming the cat, and carrying the poor thing into our yard, and burying him there. It's fairly funny in retrospect, but at the time, I was slightly disturbed by it. Go figure.
What I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry to hear about your cat, and I'm glad that (s)he had at least a happy life with you while (s)he was alive.

Ohhhhh, I miss my cat.
I think that even if I technically give a cat a name, I will never ever call it by that name. My cat at home is called Berkie, but everyone just calls him Kitty or Buddy. It's weird.
I feel weird +2ing this because it made me sad, but anyway...

I know exactly how you feel. I haven't had another pet since, and it's been years. I had mine for 10 years and he became something like a sibling to me. I found him behind my school when I was in fifth grade, right before a blizzard hit the area. I begged my mother to let me take him home. He was no bigger than the size of my open hand. I knew he had been abandoned because when we brought him inside, we made a makeshift litterbox from a cardboard lid and some dirt, and he went right to it and did his business. He had been taught, and he couldn't have been more than a couple months old.
Throughout his years, he did some truly funny shit, like making the mistake of tasting a glass of 7-UP when no one was looking and immediately backflipping into a nearby TV and batting his face like it was full of bees. Another time, I was on my bed doing homework, and I heard him running down the stairs in one of his freak out "I HAVE TO BE IN THE OTHER ROOM" modes, making his way to my/his room, full-blast, running head-first into my desk making a fantastic "THOK!" sound. Once again, he spazzed out, slapping at his face and the most-assuredly terrific pain there. I laughed for what seemed like hours at that.
The thing that keeps him in my heart the most, though, is about a time during my senior year in high school when I wasn't at home. My parents were in the living room, watching TV. I was at work. Rascal (the cat) was lounging in his favorite spot, directly in the middle of the floor, where he could monitor ALL events happening, when suddenly he perked his head up and looked toward the front door. He trotted over to the stop of the steps leading into the foyer, ears layed flat against his head, and according to my parents, began to growl in an eerie dog-like manner. He had never done that before, and I've never seen it since. The doorbell rang and my dad went to answer it. Some kids from my high school were at the doorstep, apparently looking for me. My dad said I wasn't at home so they left. The following day at school, I found out some girl had accused me of raping her (which I later found out was her disturbing way of getting attention) at some party I had never been to. The boys had come to my house to beat me up.
Eventually the truth came out and that was the end of it, but the thing that gets me is that my cat KNEW something wrong was happening. Even before they were at the door. Plenty of people have stopped by the house and most of the time he would run away and hide as he didn't trust people after being abandoned, except for me and my family, since he saw us everyday. But that day, he knew something was wrong and was trying to protect me. I'm sure of it. I will never forget that.

"Then, at the burial, when the first shovelful of dirt went into the hole, I cried."
Which is why you should have brought his furry little corpse to your local Chinese restaurant, had it stir-fried with scallions and ginger, eaten him with gusto, and later shat him in to eternal peace (and pieces).

a-daamage, I remember when I got the cat.. I got him at school, actually, and on the ride home he wouldn't sit still. No matter how tight I tried to hold him, he wanted to attack the driver's feet. I remember a few weeks later, when he jumped halfway across the room and spazzed out in mid-air, eventually hitting the ground with a thump, and then flipping out on my leg.
I remember a lot of fun with this cat. He used to walk in front of me when I was walking.. Like, right in front of my feet. That's what the "zigged when you should've zagged" thing came from.
The hardest thing I've done in a long time was throwing that first shovel full of dirt on him. I busted out in tears and waited, hoping he'd wake up.
Then my dad says we can get another cat. I don't want afuckingnother cat. I want my cat.

I sat and watched when they lethally injected my cat. He looked at me like "Hey, what are you doing to me?", then the doctor stuck the needle in one of his front paws, and then the life just fell away from him. It wasn't more than 3 or 4 seconds. It was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. And since it was my cat, the decision was up to me to end his life, and I stayed up late for days trying justify my actions in my mind. I eventually did, but I will never forget how he was looking at me and how he suddenly wasn't there behind those eyes anymore. Just like that, and he was lost forever. I saved him from a blizzard when I first found him only to become his executioner in the end. Daamit, now I'm sad.
