I still say "Groovy" and "Right On".
"Dirtass" in our high school vernacular was also known as "Grubber".

I used to say most of those when I was a kid. Instead of Dirtass, we would say Grit. you didn't want to be a Grit. Or a Mirt.
-----------------------------------
Ditto... I wonder if it's a mid-Atlantic thing.
#################################################
Yeah, we said "dirtbag" in Jersey, it has a better ring to it i think. We called hicks and rednecks "grit"s.
More phrases that should make a comeback - "RAD!" or "TO THE MAX!!!!!!"

One of the many "funniest Seinfeld's ever" was the episode when Puddy, Elaine's hilarious dork of a boyfriend, kept asking Jerry to "Hi five" while they were working on a car sale deal.
Elaine ended up breaking up with him, as usual, over it. Of course they were back to gether by show's end.

Good stuff....but I think you're missing one of the best sayings! what ever happened to "No guff!" ?!?! I've started saying it at random situations for a grand 'ol time!

Foxes is good, but I've always thought "babes" was better. You don't hear people saying "I scored some hot babes last night!" anymore.
On second thought, foxes might be better.
