Here is the current series. I hope you enjoy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."
Mother Theresa

"Shhh... cut the chatter we are almost there."
"Hold on I think I dropped my necklace."
"I said shut up! They might hear us."

A bead of sweat trickled down Sgt. Becky Talmage's brow, this was it, and there was no turning back. They turned the corner and saw the iron clad security door that would take them from the purifying light and into the dank bowels of the abandoned warehouse.

"Malstrom get the torch, and be quick about it!"
"Yes Sergeant."
"Jennings secure the area. I don't want any half dead muncher sneaking up and making me a entrée."

Jennings climbed atop a wooden crate and scanned the area, his HK 53 clenched tight in his hands his knuckles turning white.

A hand slipped around his ankle and he almost screamed, "Jennings calm down. Remember your training, the last thin we want is for someone to lose their cool. You're cool right?"
"Like a freezer, Sergeant"
"Good, now stay sharp."

Malstrom had already set up the torch and was cutting the bolt out of the door, the blue flame from the acetylene torch cut through the ancient iron like a hot knife through butter. There was a metallic ring as the lock fell to the other side of the door. Sgt. Talmage turned and Malstrom gave the thumbs up, they were good to go.

"How we doing up there Sunshine?"

From the rooftop Pfc. Mathew Banks, or Sunshine as his teammates called him, scanned the entire dock with his Remington 700 modified sniper rifle for any signs of trouble.

"There are a couple dead heads digging in some poor bastard's corpse on the far east side, but that's the only movement I've seen."
"Keep an eye out, we are getting ready to move in. I don't know if the radios will work down there so if we aren't out in 15 minutes grab your gear and get out."
"Acknowledged Sergeant, make like a leaf in a quarter."

"Alright boys and girls we go ghost from here on out, don't make your move until I give the signal got it? They should still be sleeping so arm your bayonets and let's go."

Sgt. Talmage pulled out a twelve inch silver spike from her thigh holster and attached it to the end of her Colt M-16. She signaled for the others to fall in formation and slowly pressed the door open with the palm of her hand. A wave of heat traveled up from the abyss and his Sgt. Talmage dead on and she knew they were defiantly in there they loved the heat it had to do with their lack of self regulating body temperature or something, that and she could smell their stink. The Sergeant looked down into the foreboding darkness and watched as the reflective surface of the silver spike pierced the darkness with shimmering light, and with that the team slowly descended the spiral staircase into the bowels of the factory.

--------------------------------------------------------------

"Steve did you hear something?"
"No, what was it?"
"Like a hissing noise or something, kind of like a snake you know?"

Brian stuck his tongue out and made the tip shake like a snakes while making the hiss noise.

"Shut up Brian, there aren't any snakes down here."

Steve looked about nervously swinging his flashlight back and forth, just in case there were snakes he would see them.

"It's creepy enough down here without you hearing shit. Now keep an eye out, the master's are sleeping and I don't want anything to wake them. You don't want to end up like Michael do you?"

A sickening memory ran through Brian's mind and he quickly pushed it away. We may not know what he was thinking but his face told us everything story we needed to know, we don't want to know.

"Alright, but I'm telling you something is going on..."

A metallic ring interrupted whatever it was Brian was going to say next and it was lost to the eternal ether, because the next thought through his mind was 'intruders'.

The two looked at each other wide eyed and Brian ran down the long hall and down a three flights of stairs which lead to a heavy wooden door. Brian placed his hand on the knob and began to turn; the icy touch of the metal knob combined with the sweltering heat in the bowels of the factory sent a shiver up his spine. Suddenly a hand grabbed his and he nearly screamed.

Brian turned to see Steve trying to catch his breathe, he barely managed to catch Brian before he opened the door to the master's chamber.

"What are you doing?" Steve panted from running so fast.
"I'm going to wake them. Get off me." Brian tried to pull his hand from Steve, but Steve kept an iron grip.

"Are you stupid or just dense?"

Brian just gave Steve a blank look, obviously not grasping the bigger picture.

"If we wake them they will be hungry, and who do you think they will feed on first?"

Brian gave way to reason and released the cold metal door knob...

"So what the hell do we do then? Just let whoever it is up there come in and wipe us out? Even if we do survive what then? We have the mark of Cain upon us! The rebels will kill us and vampires will just enslave us again."

Brian swept back the hair that partially covered his forehead to reveal a tattoo with a scarlet red drop of blood placed in the middle of a black circle. The entire thing was about the size of a half dollar but its meaning was clear, they were tainted.

"I know, I know, let me think. There has to be something we can do."
Brian looked at Steve, they were about the same height, "We have the traps we could use those."
"Yeah if we could only... I got it. Let's go."

The duo made their way up one level to the third sublevel of the factory, being sure to secure the door to the hall on their way out. It would be the last defense for the sleeping masters, but nowhere near the only one. They finally reached a door, with no handle, marked with the word "control" etched into its steel plating by what had to have been fingernails. Steve lifted a secret panel on the floor of the dark hallway and removed a long silver object with a funny bulb at the end. He ran the key along the side of the barren door and a loud hiss came from a crack that seemed to form out of nowhere. The door opened and the two stepped inside.

"So this is where it all happens, huh?" Brian said in awe as he looked around the quite modern control room.
"Yeah, I've only been in once when Master Margrave had decided to feed in here and wanted me to clean the mess." Steve slid his hands along the leather chair and could not remember the last time he had felt the soothing touch of leather against his skin.

"You know if they find out we were in here we will die." Steven stated as he sat himself in the large comfortable chair.

Brian only nodded and depressed a large red button next to the door and dim lights illuminated the small room and the control panels began coming to life. Several large monitors came on showing different parts of the factory and the underground levels.

There were four floors in total, the bottom floor was dedicated strictly to the master's feeding and sleeping chambers, the third floor housed the control room and a large hall that was used for experiments, the second floor contained lab equipment and supplies for the master's various projects and the first floor was a long hallway which lead to the stairwell. There were also several cameras placed in the cells the master's used for holding their experiments as well as several laser sensors scattered throughout the grounds.

Brian scanned the screens and pointed out a group of intruders coming down the spiral staircase from the ground level.

"Bingo." Brian said and with that the large metal doors closed behind him and gave one final hiss before sealing both the two slaves and our brave warrior's fates.

"We may not know what he was thinking but his face told us everything story we needed to know, we don't want to know." -- I didn't like that line. It's the only spot in the story where the narrator seems to include himself in the readership, and it seemed out of place.

Also, I got kind of confused. Because there was no introduction to Brian and Steve, I spent half the story thinking they were rebels, and got mighty confuzzled when I started to see otherwise. I also didn't understand their motivations, or even what happened at the end.

But I can be kinda thick sometimes.

I was gonna be a total dick and give this only a +1 for some typo/grammar stuff that could have been caught in a very thorough and completely anal edit... but then you threw in the solid silver bayonets, so +2 for you.
