Actually FS, the "two spaces after a period or question mark" rule has gone by the wayside. Many will still do it out of habit, but the accepted way for any computer created communication is one space after the period. The orignial rule stemmed from the days of typewriters, when each character took up the same amount of space no matter that character's size. In order to help delineate the end of a sentence, two spaces were used. With computers, each character takes up only the amount of space it needs. There is no "set" space for each character, therefore one space after a period calls adequate attention to the end of a sentence.
