Why is it so much more encouraging to remember the better events in our life rather than truly experience the feelings at the event worth remembering? Why do pangs of guilt, joy, love, and debilitation flow through veins like the rampage of an unstoppable army up the windpipe? Short gasps bring back memories quicker to blind the vision of what we rationalize to be the most influential moments and feelings that should have been there at the time come back to haunt the visions of a body lying still in the dark weeks thereafter. This occurs more than I can bear and if ear I can't do anything to discourage the flow of emotions that overtake me and leave me feeling like a helpless child left alone in a creek to drown. No real hope exists to escape until the emotion is forgotten. It lies in wait for another night to once again overtake my body like a ravaging animal with the cunning of our own demonic wills.

Helplessness is no doubt the worst emotion to course through someone. Knowing whatever you do will have no affect is the consequence of a full comprehension. Full comprehension would only lead to a depressingly dull understanding of our life. While the desire to meet a different challenge would drive us to the point of helplessness, endorsed by an unknown and unwilling desire to experience all that we haven't. Why bother?

This comes from that sad look everyone gets when they see visuals of old/better/simpler times. Just in time to sneak into our lives, they cover the current view on life with a temporary blanket of sympathy for ourselves since we can no longer experience these memories. Remember and smile right? Why? Just so we can depress ourselves long enough to sleep through yet another memory worth living? Eyes wide, ears open, palms stretched. Stress is tightening of muscles, emotions, and time left to truly enjoy what we love. It helps us through responsibility to get us through everyday life till we can enjoy the times worth living. Controlling this inevitable vice grip in life is probably the key to enjoying it. How? With what? Who fucking cares...

This will all make more sense to you as you get older. Trust me.

But never complete sense.

Memories take on entirely new meanings, and helplessness is replaced with regret.
