This is a part of an exchange between me and thespook that occurred on one of my post. My first post I told a cop story, and the first review thespook gave me was something along the lines of "great another fucking cop" or something to that effect. I retorted that I was not a cop anymore because I am currently disabled. I did not go into any further detail, because really it was not important. Fact of the matter is though that I was hurt while serving an arrest warrant, and therefore my employers insurance covers my medical cost and salary. I have been told by several doctors I need a surgery that may or may not work. The icing on the cake is that even if the surgery did work, there is a really good chance that I will have arthritis in my back before I hit my 40's. The backstory is not the point of the post, I do not care what thespook or anyone else thinks about me. The point of the post is concerning peoples tendency to stereotype.
I was very very guilty of being critical of people who claimed to be in pain. I am even still a bit suspicious when I am at the docs office and I see people in there complaining of whatever sort of pain. In our culture lawsuits run rampant, and docs have alot of drugs so that leads to alot of people faking being hurt for various reasons. Since I got hurt I have lived in chronic pain, been 100% dependent on pain medications to survive, and experienced financial hardship. I have been kept up nights not being able to sleep because of the pain, several times I wanted to die, as I lay here and post this I realize I have been awake 20 hours. I am not trying to get sympathy, if I was I certainly wouldnt expect any from you fuckers. The point is to just say that when someone has an accident and claims to be hurt they may be suffering a great deal, dont just immediately stereotype them as some lazy bum. Chronic pain is a bitch, and I would not wish it on anyone.

Finally, a tribute to my asshole comments.
I must say that my stereotype is a well thought out one. 4 out of the 5 people I know on disability are not disabled at all. I see them almost everyday running or working out. My stereotype is based on probability and actual facts. Good luck with all that chronic pain and misery.
On a side not, I heard St. Anger on the radio the other night. Sounded like someone dropping plates and pots in a random fashion. With James screamiing like a bitch and without any guitar solo, I felt like slitting my throat. God awful music.

Same here, everyone in my family has worked for the government in police work, postal, or fire fighter work since they came here in the 40's from Europe. And I'm about to enlist in the coast guard and who knows from there. Anyways, see ya around.

policeworks a tradition in my family, I don't regret it and if the docs can get me back to as close to normal as possible I will pick up where I left off. Srry to hear bout your dads friend, his family has my condolences. As far as the site goes I dish it out and take it as well, if I wanted to be popular I would just conform to popular opinion. Its just more fun to stir up shit, thats what keeps people coming back for more.
