With a half cocked smile he picked up his jacket, slung it over his arm and walked away. I was relieved but at the same time saddened. I've let another decent man walk out of my life, just like that.
I'm so full of shit when it comes to situations like this. Right now I want to call him, tell him that I made a mistake, but I won't. I shut the door on him. If only I'd left it ajar.
Is there something wrong with me... emotionally, I mean, probably, but at this point in life I feel like an old dog that won't be taught new tricks. Can love be taught? Can it be bought?
Some people fall in love or claim to every other month? Why can't I... just once?

Your not ready for that kind of relationship, you'd only end up hurting him. I'm sure he's a nice, gentle, sweet guy who would never hurt you, will always stand by you and love you tenderly and truly, but guys like that are a dime a dozen. Seriously.
