Here's the current scenario:
- world superpower
- large military
- technologically advanced
- complete disregard for human life outside own country
Of course that last one might need a little clearing up.
You see, the US has a large military.
With such a large military comes large military funding.
However, you need to justify the need for such a large military in order to keep it.
To do this you need to keep coming up with causes and wars to fight.
But, because of the technological research done by the US military they're a frightening force and nobody will step up because it will simply draw attention to themselves. It's far too much like a elementary school playground and the US is the bully.
Compare the US to Nazi Germany. Seriously. Genocide aside, look at the attitudes. The American government has the population trained so well that there's really nothing they can't get away with. Throw the peasants a bone, some mockery of a shitty excuse, and invade. No problem.
I love to use Iraq as an example.
US: WMDs.
But wait, the UN said no.
US: Go in anyway, fuck the rest of the world! We're the USA damnit!
Basically, the US is throwing their weight around far too much and it's becoming far more arrogant that most of it's populace realises. I'm sure most have never thought about it.
Anyway, whether i explained it clearly or not that's the jist of my opinion.
For the record: I don't hate Americans. Too difficult to lay the blame of those that abuse the power of a corrupt society at the feet of the general public.
Yar.

naw, i was just bored at work and decided to rile up the natives.
mission accomplished though, it adequately entertained me through a fairly boring afternoon.

Yeah, nearly half this country hates the current administration, and that means we are all trained to do whatever the President tells us.

I can't say I agree that there's gonna be a WW3, but the nazi thing is true.
Besides genocide, the American psyche is one that
"We are Americans. We are the greatest. USA USA!" Compare with
"We are Aryan Germans. We are the Greatest. Sieg Heil!"
And your actions are just the same too.
But then again, apart from the joo-bashing the nazis weren't as amazingly bad as everyone says.

Wow! Comparing America to Nazi Germany! I've never heard that before! Congratulations, you have successfully introduced a salient and ingenious new concept previously not mentioned 2 billion times before! The best part is, you were able to include such rigorous evidence and cold hard facts that everyone is sure to agree with you!

You should probably come armed with knowledge and facts instead of speculation and opinion when commenting on such a perilous subject, aside from the fact that it's really quite obvious.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
"Genocide aside, blah blah blah."
Yeah, let's just handwave that inconvenient little "genocide" thing that blows your argument to shit. I mean, other than that trifling organized mass execution of millions, the US compares so closely to Nazi Germany!

But seriously, (disregarding our lack of genoicide, our lack of an ethnic superiority doctrine, our foreign aid contributions, and our support of democratic systems over totalitarian ones) you have such a great point.
But I don't want to discredit you. I think that this war does need to take place. Let's have at it. I'm sick of all this "Death will come to the American Empire" talk.
Come on, pussies. If you don't like us, then take us on. If you really hate America as much as you say you do and we're really as bad as the fucking Nazis, then come and get us. We're just sitting over here for Christ's sake.

it just so happens that Iraq holds huge oil reserves.
it just so happens that Afghanistan is now having a rather large pipeline run across it to get oil through.
=====================
Jeebus fucking Christmas on a can. You "it's all about oil" people make me want to puke.
http://www.energybulletin.net/3291.html There's your fucking Afghani pipeline, which stands to make a lot of money for the *Afghani* government and investment partners in -Asia- Oh, and Turkmenistan too, since it's their gas and oil that the pipeline is for. Sounds like they make out the best.
Iraq does hold some oil reserves. some rather large ones. I agree on that point. Do you see us lining up at the gas pumps to get our 75 cents/gallon of gas? NO. Those oil fields remain under the control of the Iraqi government, do they not? Where are we benefitting from that oil and gas, when the pipelines are sabotaged nearly daily, and the country is barely producing enough to handle its own needs right now?
Ah, wait, we decided to lessen our reliance on middle east oil by going into ANWR up in Alaska.
Come on man, put the pieces together. Convienient excuse for conspiracy theorists.

well hastily conceived, yes. i threw it together rather quickly. but a rant that i've had for a while that i just threw down.
and do i think the US is alone in this? no. there are a lot of others in the same boat but being next door i tend to see a little more of that you kids' govt. is up to more than other places.
so, yes, you could replace the US in the second paragraph with others, but i still see the US govt. as the worst offender.

Did Germany try and set up Democracies in any of the countries they were "given" under appeasment or in countries they took after that?
Did hitler have 40%-60% (depending on the polls you look at, or what happened in the news last week) of the population against his military actions?

"complete disregard for human life outside own country"
I'm sorry you've come into contact with some assholes, but even a small amount of research will show that many programs and agencies that give help to people are well-entrenched in America.
Let's not forget who put feet on the ground in Indonesia after the tsunami first. Not talking about money, talking about physically putting people on the ground to help.
Don't use such a big paintbrush next time. It is unbecoming to you and I both.

Yes, complete disregard for life outside of our country. That's why our military delivered the largest bulk of the tsunami aid. That's why we saved Muslims from genocide in Kossovo. That's why we gave men with amputated hands in Iraq $10k prosthetics. That's why we donate more money to AIDS research, including $15 billion to Africa, than any other country. That's why we offered aid to Iran, our mortal enemy, when they had an earthquake. That's why we offered food aid and energy concessions to North Korea before they started building bombs behind our backs. That's why we offer aid to countries such as Egypt, which are strongly Anti-American. That's why we're working with Abbas and Sharon to enable a Palestinian state.
This is the work of a stone-cold moron. And the funniest thing of all is he believes Americans are brainwashed.
