Once in this life I drank from the gushing springs of inspiration,
and bathed my soul there,
and slept on its banks
near the soothing foam
on nights when the wind whispered forbodings of drier days;
and there beside the ceaseless waters I waited
and weathered the blistering heat
'till the day came
that the heat blew away
and I filled my canteen
with the waters of the spring
and went on my wandering way.
For many-a-day I traveled
on that limited stock and store
I'd gathered from the rushing spring -
the inspiration's source.
But the hour finally came,
and it was to be expected,
when the last drop dripped my tongue,
but my thirst was unaffected.
So here I now stand,
empty vessel in a hand,
and the other, to a memory clings -
of those balmy nights
when the moon would light
the waters of inspiring springs.

----------

I'm always standing on the verge of creation -
From out of what corner will come the fusion,
the divine, sparkling dove trailing lightning to the sun -
to be destroyed on its molten surface?
Onto what pillow will fall my dreams,
my couched, feathery remnants -
the embers of the pyres of youth?

I am doomed to create, and by creating, count the exhaustion of another possibility.
I am made to tear this Brad Linzy character apart in search of something worthwhile to offer unto deaf ears. To create is to crawl ever nearer destruction - to find out who I am and then give it all away in concise, coherent packages that are little more than peak'd bastardizations of the actual chaos that is my primordial, bleeding heart.

I've followed these footprints to where they disappear into the sea...

What now???

Now I learn to swim.

I liked it. It had an interesting structure.
I hate you. I'm having trouble forming coherent sentences and you probably just pulled this out of your ass in under an hour.
Fucking musicians... :)

(If you worked on this for a long time, I apologize for the "out of your ass" comment.)
(However, if you did, fuck you.)

I talk to the water alot. The Great Lake is often where I find inspiration myself. WInter has prohibited us from seeing each other. But anticipate catching up with my old friend soon.

I liked it but not much of a poetry buff.

I agree that it is in fact, most likely, without doubt, possibly a beach... on the ocean.

With the sand and water and everything I would probably say it is some sort of beach.

81 hits and only two reviews. Funny how when you post something stupid people are falling over themselves to tell you how much you suck but when you post something good they can't bring themselves to acknowledge it.
