Do you guys like drugs? I like drugs. Not a heavy user, but I've smoked pot many a time, enjoy drinking, and despite a panic attack with LSA last year, am very enthusiastic about hallucinogens. Rolled a few months ago for the first time, that was a lot of fun. I tend to stay away from the harder shit, but thats more out of being too lazy to find it than any sort of fear. My philosophy is to try anything once, and I don't get addicted easily....enough about my general drug background though.
Have any of you guys tried salvia divinorum? My friend introduced me to it a couple years ago. Its this plant (still legal in the US) that Aztec shamans used to use in divination rituals, and now kids smoke it to get high. Its not really a party drug though, and it's DEFINITELY not a "weed substitute"...it's very weird, trippy shit. I've smoked it three times - first time, nothing happened. Second time, it actually was a little like being stoned. Third time though, it was a stronger extraction, and I tripped balls for a few seconds, nearly clawed my friend's hand off while coming out of it, then proceeded to walk in circles around the backyard for 10-15 minutes. During those first few seconds, there was this incredible experience that felt very...almost religious in nature. Very mystical and profound, complete ego death - I completely forgot this reality and who or what I was. The next 20 minutes or so felt like complete, blank insanity. This sounds scarier than it was; it left me extremely moved and with a renewed appreciation for everyday life, and the beginning was indescribably beautiful. For the next few months everything seemed clearer; I felt refreshed. I don't smoke it anymore, now - I feel like after that experience, I've gotten the most out of it that I personally can. To play around with it any more feels almost disrespectful.
After that happened I did some more research (thank you, erowid.com) and discovered that peoples' experiences on this stuff ran the gamut from near-religious things like mine, to happy giddy stoned-type episodes, to violent breakdowns. There was this one guy who smoked it, laid down on his bed and woke up in the ER after having completely trashed his bedroom. He broke mirrors, threw furniture, banged himself up pretty bad. (Your body seems to go on autopilot with this stuff...it definitely makes you want to move.) Also, it contains a substance called Salvinorin A, which is apparently one of the most hallucinogenic chemicals known to man. I'm really curious as to what influences people's reactions to it apart from the whole "set" and "setting" thing. Does anyone know anything else about this? Has anyone had any experiences with this stuff (or anything else, what the hell) that they want to share? Comment away!

Good example of how ridiculous some people get on salvia. (I've never seen anyone like this, something tells me this kid was a bit of a retard to begin with...)
But yeah. Very unpredictable drug. If you guys seek out sally d and smoke up, for the love of god do it somewhere safe and use a sitter. happy tripping <3

See, I can't find LSD anywhere around here .. PCP and MDMA are the only two psychoactives common in the area. Been looking for acid for about a year, been close to the purchase twice but to no avail.
So I heard about DXM (robo-tripping off cough syrup not advised, buy the pure powder several places online), and from there went to LSA and 5-MeO-DMT. LSA was one of the least enjoyable experiences, it was fun .. kind of dreamy, but the morning after was a fucking bitch. I'd do it if I could find it extracted, but no more Morning Glory seed tea for me.
PCP is a little too violent at times for regular use, and E is a little mild, but I've found a happy medium with DXM and 5-Meo. Wouldn't mind trying a couple other tryptamines, but .. plenty of time.

gtz - personally i've never heard of 50x/100x extractions, but who knows. That's fuckin insane. There is something on sagewisdom about a scientific fellow who isolated the salvinorin A to a near-ure state, vaporized that, and tripped so hard for a few minutes that he came back to find that he had written "IT IS TOTAL INSANITY" on a piece of paper, right before switching realities multiple times. There were also sheets of paper filled with nonsense rambling and scribbling.
And yeah, I smoked out of a one-hitter with a crack torch butane lighter. Did I mention I only had one hit of the 20x? Wow.
mxc - I'm not too sure about degreeless, wasn't too happy about the -2 for no reason, but the NUUUURRRRRRRRRRR amused me. Besides, his posts are funny.

I had straight (not extracted) salvia and it didn;t do much, but I had 15X and I tripped pretty well, but I wanted to hurt our waitress b/c she never brought me my pop and I wanted everyone to shut the fuck up.

I agree with this statement totally. It's not like, say, mushrooms, in which you realize your thoughts and actions are controlled by a drug, and if it gets too intense, you can reassure yourself that your mental state is altered. When using Salvia, that is not the case at all. It's almost as if it's an entry into a different reality then it is a drug (sounds strange I know).

tried it a few times. it is f'ing amazing stuff. the first time was just too confusing to know what happened. the second time i remember thinking i was merged into the table in front of me and was actually part of it. i could taste the ashtray that was on it. i was stuck for about 10 seconds not being able to move. it wasn't as if you know you're fucked up, i couldn't remember taking anything at that point. i just thought i was a table, but it wasn't scary at all.
i has the whole falling off a cliff thing to. it was the second part of fuckedness. it feels like a strong gravity pulling you to one side. which is wierd, but fun. i was aware at this point that i had taken something though.
i had spheres of reality too.like the air was segmented which you could see..? hard to explain.
immediately after taking a hit, try reading something. your face goes very numb for a while, and you cant talk properly. this soons wears off as you go into the truelly fuckedness stage.
u have to take a massive hit for it to work. you cant smoke it in a spliff. i done mine through a bud bomb. no water needed, the smoke is very smooth and cold, so you can take a massive hit without feeling the harshness.
make sure you got a mate in the room with you. very important. my mate tried to leg it out of the room, because the sphere of reality was expanding and he needed to get away from it..?
i got mine from a smart shop in amsterdam, which was very good stuff.
i also bought some online, it was rubbish. it was suppossed to be 20X strength, double what i did in amsterdam, but done very little.
i can't reccomend it enough. it's not scary. and lasts not much more than 5 minutes in all. you will be more twisted than you have ever been for about 10-20 seconds.

Salvia is the second most powerful hallucinogen known to man, after DMT. What's great about it is that it's legal, and only lasts approx. 30 mins to an hour. I bought some for the first time recently from a shop called "The Urban Shaman" in Vancouver and was talked to about it by the crazy Shaman himself for half an hour who described it's religious and spiritual ramifications. After taking two huge hits of it later on, I slumped over in my chair and tripped harder than I ever had in my life. It felt as though my body fell away and I was a floating entity amidst multiple planes of reality that shifted in a seemingly never ending cycle. I didn't move the entire time because it was as though I had no body. I also completely forgot I just smoked some drugs, and so thought this all was real. Very trippy stuff. Try it if you want, but know that it is very powerful. Most people do it once and become so scared and intimidated by it that they never do it again. I'm buying some more next time I go to the mainland

You're forgetting 5-MeO-DMT.
I've taken overdose levels of that twice .. not a suicide attempt or anything similar, just some kind of bullshit bravado. 5-MeO-DMT is about 5X more powerful than regular DMT. However, if what you bought was legal .. it was 5-MeO, a research chemical, since DMT is actually illegal (ironic, I know).
Insane trips, the last one, a dose of about 70mg I ran a sword through my stomach. (Visually/mentally, not physically) Never had what you'd call a bad trip, although none were necessarily fabulous either. More introspective than anything else.
I don't necessarily recommend this drug, and absolutely don't recommend doses anywhere close to 70mg. Dosage ranges according to Erowid is 2-15 smoked, 5-20 snorted. Overdose reports are as low as ~30mg.
Its .. interesting shit anyway.

Ok I'll bite the bait. I remember when I first smoked salvia. Me and my friends had already smoked about 2 bowls of weed at the elementary school. I smoked it and I hallucinated like what the fuck is going on? The first thing that happened was that I felt like I was falling off a cliff and I couldn't get up then I stared to yell shit. I looked over at my friends and I watched there faces turn in Tetris dots (the video game) then I looked up and saw the tripyest shit ever. I looked over at the elementary school and I saw little kids playing on the swings, jumping and playing.... 0nly one problem it was 2am in the morning and I was seeing little ghost children running around playing on the swings and shit. It fucked me up so bad.
My friend as we were driving swerved and stopped in the middle of the road ran out of the car screaming because he thought he ran over a little kid as we were driving. This was on an empty dark road at about 2.30am.
Our other friend Fat Don fucking thought he had died while in the car. He thought a bus had come buy and hit him. He started going into a panic attack and screaming touching his body.
So let's just say it fucked us up.
I quit doing it after that night because no one knows the long term effect's of it. So that's why I stopped.

the highest ive ever gotten my hands on was a couple
hits of a 50x extract but it wasnt cheap and on extract that
strong a sitter is recommended because it can become very intense
and you will lose your sense of where you are

I've heard many things, but never tried it myself. Apparently (this is just hear-say) the shit you get in head shops is pretty much worthless, gives you a mild stoned feeling, but barely noticable. I've also heard if you grow the plant yourself you can trip extremely hard off of it. I don't want to waste my money in a head shop on some shit that doesn't work and I'm entirely too lazy to grow a plant just to get high. The shit that you smoked, did it come from a head shop or was it "homegrown", and if it came from a head shop do you know how many times extracted it was?
