I've written before about the things that I would do if I had won the lottery, and although those things would be fun, I though that a little more realistic introspection was in order. What I really wanted to get at, was what kinds of things would I do, if I never had to work again, I wouldn't be rich, but I'd have enough money to do whatever it was I really wanted to do within reason.
I want to sleep in a hammock on the beach under two palm trees, and relax. I don't need anything other than a cool drink, and a good book. After imbibing on my small respite, I would gather my pack and head off to travel the world. I would start in Europe, and visit all the places of culture and history, art and beauty, finding time to relax in the countryside, or feel surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the big cities.
I would take the time to stand at the base of the pyramids in Egypt, and under the sphinx. I want to walk the Great Wall of China, and push thought the crowds on the streets of Tokyo. I would like to stand at the southern tip of South America, and watch the sun rise and set with the oceans at each side of me.
It's odd, but even though I'm young, I feel like there's not enough time to do all the things in life I really want to do. I want to know everything, and see everywhere. I want to speak every language, and read every classic book. When it's all done, I want to get a sailboat, and sail around the world, reading, writing, and fishing because fishing is awesome, and all I usually catch is a buzz.
If nothing else, I'd like to start a latchkey program for kids, hopefully get them off their asses, keep them active, and teach them that there's always a way to do what you want, but that you just need to find a path to do it. Maybe I should take my own advice. I think it's time for me to get off my ass, and start doing the things I want to do, and not be tied down with other's expectations. Life is too short, and I don't want to miss any of it.

I reccomend you visit Central America (cheap and the people are really very nice), or Norway / Sweeden

The pyramids aren't worth seeing.
and the great wall is actually made up of a patchwork of smaller walls, you can't really walk it.
Other than that sounds good, but i would have to add having my own personal mariachi band following me on all those places.

I didn't mean the whole wall, maybe just a couple miles. I'm not invading Mongol hordes so I don't think China will mind all that much.

You want to walk the Great Wall of China? That will take long time dude. If you think life is short and don't want to miss any of it, I wouldn't waste your time trying to walk the Great Wall.
