Hour Four:
As we make our way over to the children's zoo, for my favorite part of the day, your eyes light up and once again you are dragging me down a ramp and back up the other side. I see what you see now, the seals. And they are doing a show...Perfect timing...By now, I feel great, and now you do too. As we stand here, you mesmerized by the seals jumping out of the water, flipping for fish, I start to feel something like I have never felt before. Standing here, just a few feet from the water, and just barely in the shade, the wind is starting to pick up. So there I am, as the sun is beating down and the wind is cooling off as it sweeps over the surface of the water....This is what it is all about...An unusually strong gust blows the wind across the water, straight at us. With that wind, I can feel each individual hair on my legs. It feels almost like taking a shower, just wind instead of water. You know how I feel, and you're really jealous now.
By the time I realize what is happening, the show is over and we're off to the otters. For the first time all day, I'm walking fast. I can't wait to turn the corner and see these furry little guys swimming around, gliding effortlessly through the water. Now, I am jealous. I wish I could do that all day, swim, play with my friend, and get fed more fish than I know what to do with. After a few minutes, I'm satisfied, and we both want to leave...Past the carousel and out the same gate we came in.
"Where now?," you ask......Let's go to my house.
Hour Five:
We're back at the house now, right where I need to be. A few minutes and a couple glasses of water later, we're watching a movie. It couldn't have been to good of a movie, because neither one of us watched it, and before we know it, hour five turns into six, six into seven, and just about the time seven turns to eight, our day starts over...Just you wait, you will know how I feel soon enough.
