I'm on the road again, driving off into the sunset, it's my favorite cliché, but it's also my favorite time to think. In fact saying it's my favorite time to think isn't exactly accurate either; it's what I like to do to unwind. I don't know exactly know what it is about the car that allows me to unwind. I sit in the driver's seat, tune the radio to a random talk station, and turn the volume down to an almost inaudible level. I hit the road, the wind whipping through my hair, the smell and moisture in the in the air.
There's something cleansing about being the only car on a specific stretch of road, my mind clears, and the worries of the world seem to melt away. The funny thing is that it just doesn't work if I have somewhere in particular to go. It's the times that I don't have anything to do that truly allow me to be free, and I love it.
I wish I could go for a ride right now instead of being stuck at my desk, there's a thousand thoughts rushing through my head, and I just can't seem to get a grasp on them, I hate feeling helpless, like being at the center of a split in the road with a thousand different possible directions.
I've always tried to be flexible, and at the same time know what it is that I really wanted to do, or where I wanted to go in life, but the more time that goes on, the more confused I seem to be. I really think I'm starting to lose it. How do you prioritize things in your life, when things are constantly changing? How can you decide what to do? Holy fuck I think my head is going to explode. Is it possible to have a mid-life crisis at 25? Maybe you can, but only if you're going to die at 50.
