This is a picture about nature, about violence, about life. Nature "green in tooth and claw". This is not really about politics, but bravery, about the defiance of the weak against the might of the powerful. Inspiration to fight oppression and promote tolerance. To make the world fair and free and true.
For what does this really tell us? That we instinctively fear what we do not understand, and we are always on the defensive, ready to lash out at foes real or imagined. Or that anyone can stir shit, even if we're smaller than other people?
It is about the little man standing up to corporate interests, about the lotus blossoming in the face of a northern frost, about the reason overcoming irrationality and love triumphing over hate.
We should all learn a lesson from this, a lesson to take to heart and cherish forever. And that lesson is... fight the power. Fight ignorance. Fight the strong. Never give up. Never say die. Never say never. Again. Never, ever, let the man get you down.
