Since Dan and Tiff may not be able to host Ubercon August, we've decided to try for a Ubercon June.
Dates:
June 24- 27
Place:
S.E. Michigan campground... Walter J. Hayes State Park.
Why There?
1. Camping is cheap
2. Camping is cheap
3. Camping is fun
4. It's on a lake
5. I have no job
Cost:
71 bucks for the entire weekend per campsite. Two tents per campsite.
Cost to you:
Depends on how many people are going. But just anticipate "cheap".
You don't have to be established on this site to be welcome. You don't even have to be sane... I mean, Urbane's gonna go, and we all know she's nuts.
You DO have to be over 21.
You DO have to throw some money in. Don't expect for us to buy your booze and food.

What a shitty place for camping. Farm land all around, civilisation within 20 minutes' drive...Pancake Bay Povincial Park in Ontario is the only way to go. Mind you, most Americans can't take the cold water, but we don't want their kind anyway.

Chris and I would have taken the RV if it was a 4-hour or less drive from NY.

Corn how are we going to reserve/pay for the sites. Should we call ourselves?
If you can reserve and not pay until you get there than we should probably get a number by friday and have corn call. If you have to pay to reserve than we need to figure out something else.

Sounds cool. Age limits suck, though. Not that I could even attend, I'm in the northwest. All we have to do is smoke weed, steal signs get drunk and chase women. Jesus christ G-prime was right.
Goodluck on it though, if its a public campsite out somewhere popular you might get hosed by The Man, though. Not for drinking but for possibly partying. I know The Man crashes our woods parties.

okay. as a camping veteran. You must ask for most isolated. stress that
there will be a lot of us staying up very late.
Once I got together a camping trip with about 8 people who liked to
drink a lot and be up late. I called around looking for spots that would
be isolated enough not to bother anyone else. This place assured me that
they could provide us a site under those stipulations.
We got there and quiet time was 10pm. We almost got kicked out because
this site was NOT isolated. In the least. I was furious.
