This year is officially the year that using cash to pay for purchases begins to die out. Think about it. EVERYONE these days is accepting credit and debit: Taco Bell, McDonalds, Starbucks, etc.
A year ago you would have been hard pressed to make that midnight Wendy's run without any cash. Now, you just show the plastic and they'll even hold the debit number pad out the drive through window for you.
Yes, checks have been around forever, and so have debit/credit cards. However, it's not until you can pay for a $2.64 hot chocolate at Starbucks with your card and not get scowled at. Hell, it's EASIER for the cashier that way, no more stupid change.
This also brings up the fact that less physical money handling brings less tips some workers. Whatever. If Fat Tony's taught me anything it's that many people don't even deserve them.
Soon we'll bypass the whole debit/credit phase and go straight to paying for thing with our cell phones, like in Japan.

Oh yeah, fuck that first post of mine, I was quite new to uber and deserved to get my ass ripped like it did.

Besides that, this post was utterly inane. After a year this is the best you have?

As usual, I have to agree with him on this.....and on the matter of credit cards.
Try using your Platinum American Express Card, when you're stuck in the middle of the
fucking Kalahari Desert or Northern Territory and your out of gas or food!!!

blah blah blah people don't use cash as much anymore.
My, that was insightful. Any comments on insurgent violence in Iraq next? Perhaps something that cuts right to the heart of the issue like "There is insurgent violence in Iraq"

I have to agree with williamson, I have been serving here in Japan for three years and I've been all over but I have never see a vending machine like that. I'm a fat fucker too, so you know I visit the vending machines every chance I get.

I've never heard/seen the mobile phone (or as you Americans call them: cellphone) thing in Japan.
Besides that, this post was utterly inane. After a year this is the best you have?

Holy shit, your first post was awful so you waited nearly a year, posted again, and apologized?
Thank God. I bet a bunch of people were thinking about you and your first post constantly, and wondering when you would resurface to make good.
As for this post: what Shlongy said.
