TME - SMASHED UP AND BLEEDIN

Part 1
TME - 1 <---------- http://www.ubersite.com/m/65815

I dreamed Hell was chasing me.

I couldn't see it but I knew it was there. I ran from it, but in typical dream like fashion, the harder I ran the slower I moved until I could feel it at my back, hot and hungry and reaching out.

I felt its burning touch on the small of my back and I screamed and then everything was nothing until Timothy's voice filled the void.

"The gun didn't go off and then I didn't see Cat for almost two days."

His voice was calm, warm and easily the most terrifying thing I have ever heard. I slowly drifted back to consciousness as he spoke again.

"That's never happened before. No one's ever escaped me when I follow his orders and he's never gone silent for so long. He's silent now too. He went away as soon as you started moaning. Idunno, maybe it has something to do with the fact you were with Cass, or maybe it's something else..."

I moaned again as a sharp pain arched through my back and I then tried to open my eyes but my eyelids felt as if they were welded shut.

"Easy Kid" he soothed "I think your back is broken. You got pretty beat up in the crash. Your face is badly swollen so don't be surprised if you can't open your eyes. There's an old shack nearby. I scavenged some plywood from it and made you a stretcher of sorts."

I tried to move my arms but they were firmly strapped to whatever contraption he had made for me. I tried to move my legs but couldn't and I realized that I couldn't feel them at all.

"Be still"

I felt a hand gently push my shoulder back down onto the board and I tried again to open my eyes.

Somehow, I managed to get my left eye open a bit and immediately wished I hadn't.

Timothy had propped the makeshift spineboard to something so I was semi upright. Through the foggy pink vision of my eyeslit, I could see the Impala. It lay on its caved in roof, the sides crumpled and tires askew, and I could tell it must have rolled at least once before coming to a stop against the great Pine tree it laid against. In the tall weeds of the ditch, half way between me and the car, I could make out something raw and red and bleeding. I did my best to focus, and then a patch of hair confirmed my worst fears.

"Jenna" I tried to scream her name but it came out in a horse whisper instead, barely audible and distorted by my broken teeth.

"That was her name?" Timothy asked from somewhere beside me "It fits. She looked like a Jenna. She sure didn't want to give you up. I shot her and she just kept coming. I had to reload to finish her off. You gotta respect that kind of tenacity"

Despite the condition of my eyes I could feel stinging tears begin to squeeze out of them. I turned my head away from the scene in front of me, and when I forced them partially open I could see the shards of the moon in the darkening summer sky.

Timothy must have noticed where I was looking because when he spoke again it was if he was reading my mind.

"Most people I have talked to, think that it's responsible for all the killing. I've heard theories that point at everything from Electro Magnetic influence on brain waves to some sort of spiritual tie to it but I don't believe any of them. Don't get me wrong... it's not that I don't agree that it influences us, quite the contrary actually. Anyone who works in a prison or emergency ward knows it does. Cat was always his hungriest when the moon was full too."

The pain in my back was slowly spreading up my waist and along my arms, so I let my eyes close and tried to will the pain away while Timothy continued"

I can't deny that it influences us but think of this for a second" he said "What if we influence it too... I mean it makes sense that if we're tied to it, it must be tied to us. What if it didn't cause the killing? What if the killing shattered it? What if everyone started killing each other for not other reason than it was time? Maybe it's like an urge that has always been there, in our collective consciousness, festering and growing until it couldn't be held in anymore? What if the nature of man shattered the moon?"

I turned my head back to where Jenna lay and my eyes opened easier than before. I thought of how her hand felt as it ran through my hair and then I turned my head the other way, towards Timothy, and gave him my broken opinion.

"Fuckin Psycho!"

He nodded then moved out of the way to reveal Dale's battered unconscious body. He was naked and tied by a thick orange rope to a tree about the same size as the one the car was wrapped around. His stomach was bloody and I could make out a long wound running down the right side of it. The skin dead center was puffed out as if a folded sheet had been inserted into it. The wound was stitched from top to bottom except for one corner where a black tube ran out to a small silver canister that had been taped to his chest.

"He's alive, if that's what you're wondering. I'm afraid Cat took a particular dislike to him. I would wake him so you can say goodbye but there won't be any time for words when he does"

I shuddered, despite my position on the board then spit out a tooth and turned my head skyward "God!"

"God is made of cheese" Timothy replied matter-of-factly.

I shook my aching head and prayed for unconsciousness but it didn't come so I turned towards Timothy again and croaked the only question I could.

"Why?"

He stood silent and serious for a moment, as if judging whether I was worthy of the answer, then wiped bloody hands against his faded jeans and replied.

"Cat has been with me for a very long time. He makes me do... things. He used to stay in my dreams but now he's always with me. I loved him at first because he took the fear away and led me from a very bad place, but now I want to be free. I've tried to escape him before but when I failed he punished me. I learned early on that it is unwise to deny him his appetite. Cass knew about him and tried to help me but Cat found out about it and sent me after her... and... well you know how that ended"

In my minds eye I saw our beloved Cass lifted off the ground, impaled on the gun in Timothy's hand and screaming her death into the mild morning air. I growled then spit a wad of bloody phlegm and broken enamel onto Timothy's shirt. I closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable retaliation but nothing came but his calm voice.

"Cat tells me the future and he's always right. He tells me who to kill and how. He told me where Cass would be and that I had to hit her low, but he didn't know about you..."

Timothy turned and pointed to the sky above.

"... and he didn't know about that"

I readied my mouth to spit again but a moan from Dale caused me to stop. I turned my head towards him to voice a warning but it was too late.

He opened his eyes and the thick muscles of his stomach flexed, activating the air bag that Timothy had somehow removed from the cop car and placed within him.

All at once his stomach exploded, sending viscera and blood in a wide arc and turning the weeds, myself and Timothy bright red.

I watched as Dale looked wide eyed at the gaping whole where his stomach should have been, then up at me. He tried to say something but no sound would come out of his mouth and then, just like that, he slumped forward, as lifeless as Jenna.

I don't know how long I screamed. I just remember the world fading to red and then I was slumped against my bonds, panting and blissfully on the edge of consciousness.

"That is why you have to take Cat away."

"How?"

I don't know why I answered him. I don't understand how I saw through my hate for him. The word came out of its own accord; traitorous and simple.

"I don't know" he replied "I've been trying to figure that out myself. There's something about you but..."

"Your eyes" I muttered weakly.

He looked at me quizzically then took a step forward to hear me better.

"Eyes" I repeated as my head lolled, my chin resting on my chest.

Timothy came forward and pushed me by the shoulders against the board.

He never saw the head-butt coming. I hit him with everything I had and connected perfectly, sending my splattered crown hard and fast into his bloody forehead. His head flew back and he fell back straight and lay unconscious below me.

I looked around me for some way to free myself but there was nothing.

Panic took me as I realized that he would be up soon and I struggled in vain against my bonds. I threw myself forward and, to my surprise the spineboard tilted away from the tree a good five inches before slamming back against it.

I threw my weight against my bonds again, then again and suddenly found myself falling face first towards Timothy's prone body.

I landed on top of him and the air shot from my bruised lungs but I didn't care.

I had the bastard and I knew it.

I wrapped my fingers around the butt of the pistol sticking out of his jeans and pulled it as he opened his eyes.

Pressed the snub nosed barrel hard against him and pulled the trigger and he winced then smiled.

"See" he said "I knew you could..."

I cut him off mid sentence as I emptied the rest of the gun into his belly and chest.

His eyes went wide and stayed that way until they glazed over and I was left, immobile and face to face with a dead man.

I don't know how long I've been this way now. It feels like days but it's probably more like hours.

The car has started burning and I'm afraid it might blow up. I think I'm starting to get the feeling back in my legs, which is a good thing, but I also don't know if I care.

I don't know if I want to go on in a world full of Timothys.

In the end it might be better if I just faded away along with the rest of the human race.

Maybe our time here is done. Maybe we've done too much damage to everything, to be allowed to exist.

We did shatter the moon after all.

There are a solid four pages of +2 streaks with 30 or more reviews. That is stupid. I am weeding it all out by giving every one of them a +1; that way posts that have 1.99 with 200+ reviews gets best ever.

AhHaHaHa... I actually thought about going through all your posts with +2's and that same note.

Glad to see El Douchebag's ratings got expunged.

"You're going to kill her in the morning. She's going to die spitting blood and begging for her filthy wretched life. You're going to stab her Seventy Eight times, in fact, you'll still be stabbing her when your little brother pulls you off... it's going to be quite gruesome"

Hahaha true.

If you look at it. I said his little brother would pull him off but I never said his little brother was the only sibling.

There's lots of out-of-sequence stories you can tell with Timothy anyway, doesn't matter if he's dead.

Okay, I'm going to stop compulsively reviewing this post now. Sorry.

Ahhh, sometimes its better to leave that to the reader's imagination. I prefer to think it's real, but hey, could be a brain defect.

As for family, since you brought it up...didn't you say in your Timothy post that he had a brother (not a sister)?

But is Cat real?

Is he Demon or Embolism?

I never really decided. Maybe I'll pick it up again. Timothy and his sister are dead but they aren't the only member's of the family.

Ahhh, gotcha. I understood the getting-free-of-cat's-influence part, I just didn't get the misfire; assumed it was an ammo thing. Misfires are definitely more prophetic than not being smart enough to load your gun all the way. Thanks for the response...so many writers will not bother to answer questions like that.

By the way, the Cat is a good fear-eating homicidal motivator, but a shit fortune-teller. Didn't he say Timothy would die on death row at age 47? Stupid cat. Shows what YOU know! :) I liked how you tied your posts together like that. Cool beans.

The Caes,

He wasn't out of ammo. He fired 3 shots and then misfired. He took it as a sign, which is why he said

"The gun didn't go off and then I didn't see Cat for almost two days."

He was keeping him alive in the second part, because he hoped he could be set free from Cat's influence.

Hehehe I guess I should have been clearer.

Any reason why Timothy tried to kill the lead character in the first post (when his gun was out of ammo) but why he was keeping him alive in the second? Just curious.

TheCaes,

Thank you!

Cat is the focus of a story I wrote called "Timothy and Cat". I linked to it in part 1 of this.

Timothy has popped up in several of my stories since but never to this extent.

Mr. President,

Thank you so much for the vote of confidence. I only hope that my continued ugliness will serve as a shining example to those people less fortunate.

I definitely wouldn't mind colaborating on something. I'm in the middle of corporate office move Hell, starting at the end of the day, but I'll leave a comment on one of your posts next week.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for my acid bath.

Holy shit this was awesome. You leave a lot of mysteries in this one...the Cat thing, his eyes, etc. Or maybe I just didn't catch on to some of them because I was scrolling. Wish I had waited around and read the resized one, but oh well.

I really like your suggestion that the moon caused the madness, and liked even MORE your suggestion that we shattered the moon. That was so good.

SO damn good.

Dear Mr. Vice President,

I would just like to say that, having discovered your talents just recently I am very impressed by your ability to draw a reader into the story. "Active" hardly describes your imagination. I believe that you could be, or could see, in a more twisted manner than even I. Your dark side shines with every word of this that gets recorded. Also, thank you for writing in a manner which is easy to read and virtually mistake free. I can appreciate the lengths to which you must go to in order to write on a level such as this.

I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter of this compelling story. If you would like to collaborate on something dark and evil, let me know. I would jump at the chance to explore the dark side of human nature with a writer such as yourself.

Keep up the good work and let's hope that the -2 monsters out there don't get ahold of this.
