Harry sat down on the wet, cold metal strut. Tears and rain washed down his face. He can actually feel an onslaught of madness coming. He never knew that happened. That madness didn't particularly always creep up on you. In this case it actually skipped along the bridge, up the precarious ledge Harry was sitting on and looked him in the eye.
Madness was here.
Harry giggled. He pictured Madness like a little creature that had come to visit him. A white, gangly, gargoyle of a thing, with sparse hairs all over it. It grinned at him oddly and lowered itself next to him.
Harry fidgeted. "Whatever you're here to say to stop me won't work" he shrilled. "Oh that's not why I'm here," said Madness." I'm here to encourage you". It grinned. Harry's earlier lunch shifted with revulsion. It's teeth, the ones that were there, were brown and pitted. Harry shuddered. "Come on" said Madness. "We're going to a nice place. I'll come with you.... come on" it urged.
Harry looked around, now terrified. He was in control before. Now this.... This 'thing' had taken away his control. Harry started to cry again and stood, wavering in the now frighteningly strong wind. He looked down at the bridge to see if there was anyone there to see this creature. The bridge was silent and now at this late hour, deserted.
Harry thought of Jean and let out a huge breath. He needed to talk to her. "She doesn't care about you," said Madness. "You know that. None of them do. That's why we're here. Because you're NOTHING. You're a fat, useless nothing. Come on, let's jump now". It laughed. It started like a toddler's giggle and built into a sickening screech of laughter. Harry felt his bowels loosen in terror.
Half in fright and half in panic Harry screamed "Nooooo" He swayed on the bridge drunkenly feeling his courage build as he heard his own booming voice. "LEAVE ME ALONE. I DON'T NEED YOU"
Harry's eyes widened almost unnaturally as he slipped, hands grappling, fingers splayed out.....

I read all four before I rated these and the transitions were smooth enough that these could stand together as an awesome short story.

I take a look through the bars at the last sights,
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me.
Can it be that there's some sort of error,
