I've always wanted to do this. When I saw someone else do so, mostly jokingly I guess, I had to jump in! This will be totally awesome even if no one joins, in which case, I will be the only writer.
I'm going to run my own Ubersite contest called 'D-PRIME MADNESS,' even though I'm on the planning council for the official Ubermadness, seeing as I have way too much time on my hands, and spend all night on the computer, and spend my time at school on the net when I should be working, and spend my home time on the computer when I should be doing homework.
This will be smaller, simpler, and more personal than the real Ubermadness. It will be more serious and probably better run than shlongy's, and any one can join. That is, unless more than 32 people join, in which case I'm not taking any more and it's first-come-first-serve. It doesn't matter how new/old you are, what your stats are, or what other competitions you're in.
It will be much like the last Ubermadness. I will think of a bunch of titles, and each match-up will be between two people writing a story with that title. The story must incorporate the title, and if it contains any images that aren't 'safe for work' then it must have 'NSFW' at the top. These are basically the only rules concerning content, and not much else will be disqualified. They will just be regular posts, and whichever gets the higher rating on Ubersite's system, for any reason, will be the one that wins.
Once it looks like every one who might join already has, I will take every one and put them into a bracket. The match will be between you and whoever you're set up with in the bracket; winner goes on to the next round until we have a 'CEO of Madness.' If there isn't 4 or 8 or 16 etc. participants, which there probably won't be, then there will be BIs awarded based on my judgment of your quality as a user - it will pretty much be based on # of posts, hits, and average rating, but if it's too close for me to decide based on those, I'll look at who I think got their ratings in a more legitimate way. "OH MAN YOU REFERENCED BLINK 182! I LOVE YOU! +2!!!" wont get as many brownie points as "This had a well thought-out plot and blah blah blah *something out of a textbook*"
You can join by reviewing this and saying that you want to do so. I will only participate if 0 people join, in which case I will be the only writer, or if 1 person joins, in which case I will just set my self up against him/her. That'd be pretty funny.
I'll give the dates later, but it will be at least a week after you get your title that you'll have to submit, so don't worry about not having time. I'll set up all the particulars soon, based on how many people join.
JOIN D-PRIME MADNESS!! If about eight people joined, that would be cool. I love drawing play-off brackets.

I have no problem with happy or homosexual people, and if only they join, then that'd be fine. This is the SMALL serious one, without all the new crap the new one has going, for those who don't support it.
