So, last Saturday, I was having dinner with my mom. I got a call from my best friend telling me to come home RIGHT NOW. I drove the fifteen minutes, only to be met by her running out the door, practically snatching me out of my car and shoving me into hers, and off we go to the house of her not-quite boyfriend. We fire up a blunt and start talking. Somehow or another, the decision was made that we were going to Cocoa Beach, where said best friend has use of an apartment.
We had a great time. We got some sun, got fucked up, met a few hotties, made some new friends, just plain enjoyed our break from the toils of normal life. The drive home on Monday night was great, we were all wiped but totally relaxed from the mini-vacation. Then, when I got home, I naturally immediately checked Uber because I have no life.
And there it was. The literary genius of Nancy Bates. (http://www.ubersite.com/cgi-bin/message_get.cgi?user_id=18829) I knew she knew of the site, because of her remarks on two of my posts, but I figured that maybe she'd just leave it at that. Lord, but I should have known better. And now I have to explain.
Some of you may remember this post: http://www.ubersite.com/m/16293 , which is basically a little glimpse into my tumultuous life with (and without) my husband. It mentions that he slept with another woman during a time when we were separated, and speaks of my (stupid) decision to forgive him and try to heal our relationship. What it doesn't mention is the fact that the other woman is a raging psychopath, now known to you as mizperfect76. I never gave too much of the backstory because it was, at the time, pretty much irrelevant, but she decided to bring it out, so it seems I'm somewhat obligated to offer an explanation.
Nancy is a nutjob. After I found out about dear Shawn's transgression, she decided that she didn't like losing. She would instant message him with comments about how he "knew how things with Ashlee would turn out" and other such things. She called him and he hung up on her, so she started harassing me. I won the battle back then, and she moved away. I forgot about her, moved on, lived my life. I thought she was doing the same.
Then, as the story in the previously linked post notes, Shawn took off again. I was upset, but for the first time I didn't feel like I wanted to die, and I knew I would be okay. Being in a small town, word got around pretty fast. Nancy messaged me a couple of times, acting all nice, and then disappeared again. I kind of brushed it off, and by the time Shawn and I reconciled (again), I had forgotten all about it. We were working hard to fix our relationship, and I had bigger things on my mind than her (not much bigger though, because that'd be hard. She's a big girl.).
And then, I got pregnant. Once again, word got back to her (always through her best friend, Kat, who I also hate), and I got a nasty little note from her. I replied, letting her know that Shawn and I were happy and wanted nothing to do with her, and never heard anything back from her after that.
Well, as you know, I lost the baby in September. Had that not happened, I would have given birth on or around April 10th, 2005. On April 16th, I got yet another message from Nancy. Something about a cheating husband and a bastard baby... Well, seeing as how every guy she's ever been with has cheated on her and her child's father wants nothing to do with her unless he needs someone to babysit one of his kids by another woman, she'd know something about that now wouldn't she? Anyway, I told her that I had kicked Shawn out and if she wanted a shot at my leftovers again, she was more than welcome to him. (I would post the entire archive, but I'm not home right now and thus cannot access it.) She kept on, making up a bunch of bullshit, and getting verbally owned each time. Her favorite tactic was to remind me of the death of my father and the loss of my baby, both things that I have long come to terms with. While I was just rolling my eyes and spending a few seconds destroying each new attack she tried, she was evidently getting quite upset. This went on for awhile before she mentioned reading some of my posts here, which made me realize she was in fact stalking me.
And then I'm not sure what happened. Apparently, she got it in her head that she could somehow upset or embarrass me by making an appearance here, show you what I "really" look like by posting a picture which not only had already been posted by me ages ago, but was taken 4 years or so ago at a Halloween party, and who knows what else. The only thing I know is that she showed up here, and for that, I now have to do what Nancy's mother should have done 20something years ago.
Everyone, I apologize for Nancy Bates. Please, forgive me. It was an accident.
